In their infinite wisdom the WWE has apparently announced that Seth Rollins will return to the Monday night June 6th RAW.

Why do this? Why not let that moment when out of the blue his music hit and every one goes nuts with a huge pop?

What happened to the days when returns were a surprise?

Ratings were already up back then. They let it out to attract viewers.

I take it as he will be returning as a heel in another effort to get Roman over. This announcement will dull the pop he gets so it won't seem like another villain is more popular than THE guy.

There's no way Rollins comes in as a heel. I take it as the exact opposite. As mentioned earlier, this is made to draw ratings. Rollins will still get an insanely massive pop. If anything, this sets up "the guy" as the heel. The antics of the Usos and Reigns make me even more confident of the fact. They've even teased for months just how insane Rollins' pop will be. Imo, this is why Cena comes back first. His pop would be incredibly dull if he came back after Rollins.

I'm not sure I can ever remember a guy coming back from a publicized injury and staying heel.

Was Triple H ever a heel when he returned from his injuries?

I know he was a face after the quad, don't remember about the knee in 98.

I can't really remember.

Only guy I can think of who made a comeback and got booed was Bautista, but that was because everybody was pissed about Daniel Bryan.

I guess they could also just put Rollins out there and let him work in the fray with Rollins, Wyatt, Cena, Orton etc.
