Wyoming vs. Florida Gamethread

I just heard the ESPN guys commenting that Leak looks rough trying to run the option.

I watched the first half. Leak looked good and in command.

The problem is the O line. Wyoming ran a couple of successful delayed blitzes and the main problem I see with this offense is that it takes a lot of time for some of the plays to develop. They have gotten to Leak a few times as a result.

I'm just glad we have a couple of weeks before we play UT so that these guys can get their blocking assignments down a lot better cause if it were today, with the speed of your front seven, it might be ugly.

The reason UF is up 17-0 is that the Wyoming O line is totally outmanned by the Gator D line and backs. Way too fast for them.

Will say though that their quarterback is pretty good. Cannon for an arm. Big, too.

Overall, the offense needs a lot of practice to get their timing down because it is an offense where guys are running all over the place.

A little over that. Like I said earlier, he has it down. Its the blocking that has to get better.

well 32-14 isnt exactly a close game but wyoming has no defense what so ever and yall couldn't get anything on the ground. I am not bashing at all. Looks like Chad Jackson has developed into a hell of a reciver for florida. Too bad your run defense wasn't tested today with wyoming's two good runningbacks out of the game. but nice solid win, I was impressed.

It was a "W" against a decent team and a nice opportunity to work on getting the new offense down. Will have to improve timing and blocking to be competitive with UT, LSU, or Georgia defenses.

personally do you think wyoming is better than uab?

Hard to say. They were ranked 25 in one poll, I believe, and had votes in most of the others, though not cracking the list.

I see one guy responded on here that they are not in same league as UAB, but my suspicion is that poster has no clue what he's talking about. Doubt he can name five players on Wyoming's team without looking it up.

Again, a decent team and a nice warm-up for Florida. Learned a lot about where we have problems. Again, main thing for me is that some of these plays take eons to develop. There was one reverse ... I ordered and ate a pizza during that play.

I'd guess Wyoming and UAB are fairly comparable, but UAB might win 6-7 out of ten between the two.

Florida started pretty slow and Wyoming made some stupid mistakes, but it was a solid win regardless. Vintage Florida, racking up much yardage through the air; we'll see how they do in the trenches against some big ole pissed off Tennessee boys in a couple of weeks.

Not a very impressive win...but a win indeed. I dont think we'll see the full package on this offense as long as Leak is running the show. I liked what I saw briefly in Portis on a couple of series although Leak looked very good in the shotgun completing 17 in a row at one point. Still the O is rough around the edges and hopefully will get better.

Gator D impressed me more than the O tonight. Got some good pressure on the QB with the DL and they did look a bit more aggressive than last yr with more blitzes. Tackling is still a lil weak.

Special teams were terrible...Missed point after attempt...then another two pt conversion that they appeared to be lost. One shank on a punt, and gave up too much yardage on the returns.

UF still has alot of work to do.

For all the Leak haters...Leak set a school record with 17 straight completions today. UF's passing game looked pretty good. Chad Jackson could easily be an all-american, and if he keeps this up, may very well be a heisman finalist.

I think when Manson gets more carries and Wynn plays, our rushing game will be better. Thats def.a must to improve on.

Also, our special teams were horrid. We need to improve in that catagory desperatly.

However, the game as a whole was very good. Any time you beat a top 25 team by nearly 3 touchdowns, the day is a success.

See you guys on sept. 17 ;)

We've played Wyoming in recent years... a win over them certainly isn't one I'd be making a big deal over.

That's all I can say. I didn't get the UF-Wyoming game, so all I have to go on is the numbers and highlights. Leak did execute well, which leads me to believe that he has matured even more this year, and contrary to what someone else said, they moved the ball rushing with 165 yards.

It'll be an exciting game in 2 weeks.
