I really don't like Holtz...He always makes me want to wipe my face when I see him talk...I don't like Mike Patrick..He and Vitale should be together for every Duke game....I get tired of hearing Jaws talk about studying tape....It's hard for me to rag on Buck because I'm a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan...He is no Jack Buck though...He is just a little too stuffy...Chris Berman is what he is....I HATE Tom Jackson and his stuttering when someone asks him a question...AH..AH...AH...AH....I hate that....Bob Costas is alright...Probably again because I'm a Cardinals fan....But it's very hard to watch him now with him sitting with Keith Olberman...I cannot stand that moron....Verne Lunquist is very hard to stomach....

My Top 5 would be....
1.Keith Olberman
2.Lou Holtz
3.Mike Patrick
4.Verne Lunquist
5.Ron Jaworski

i know verne gets on a lot of people's nerves, but i actually enjoy listening to him. he's not that bad.

my favorite guy to listen to call a college football game though is sean mcdonough. i grew to like him alot during the '98 season when he did alot of our games when he was with cbs. he always brings energy to whatever game he's calling.

Enberg should have made the top five. He doesn't know how to talk about the sports themselves, everything he analyzes concerns the "human condition."

i love Jaws when it was him breaking down film of the weeks big matchup during his show, Gillette NFL Match Up of whatever it was. the MNF crew keeps going downhill. i'd love to see them go with Young, Jaws, and Tirico in the booth.

i don't care a lot for Berman, but i grew up on NFL Primetime as a kid and i still love him and Tom Jackson. you can have the other bozos in the studio during the pre-game shows.

i couldn't tell you the last time anybody on FOX was worth a damn besides Aikman. Buck does just OK in the booth with Troy. he doesn't need to be doing anything else.

as for baseball, i'm obviously biased, but Steve Stone is the best of the best. the guy knew what pitches were coming every single time. hell, he could have told you what the pitch was going to be 3 throws away. i learned so much baseball from him growing up just listening. and Harry Carry was the the perfect compliment. it doesn't get much better than the blathering old drunk and the most knowledgable man in the booth. it make for some great entertainment. even when i was a kid, i considered myself a a Bud man.

I can't stay away from this thread because I keep on thinking about more people:

Favorite ESPN personality of all time: Charley Steiner (he now does radio for LA Dodgers) I loved this guy. He would get something funny stuck in his head and just giggle the whole show. He made Sports Center a comedy show and I loved it.

Going on what doozer is saying about favorite baseball team's announcers. Skip Carry. That guy was hilarious. It was partly what he said then how he delivered it. He would say something in his normal annoucing voice and......aw hell I can't descibe it, but people who listened to him a lot get what I'm trying to say.

in baseball and sports in general, I don't think Vin Scully can be beat for play by play.

I lost any and all respect for Joe Morgan when he couldn't stop praising Fidel Castro at that World Baseball Classic (I think it was) in Havana a couple of years ago.

on a side note, the sideline reporter for the Pittsburgh Steelers is a riot.

After Joe Buck's showing on his new sports talk show can we maybe just bump him up a tad more for multitasking at blowhardness?

At 14, Paul Maguire is 13 spots too low.

Oh yes...this guy is HORRIBLE. The only thing he knows how to do is say "Look at this play....Look at this catch....look at this pass.."...hey idiot...the game is on TV...OF COURSE I'M LOOKING AT THE PLAY!!

Whoever said Bob Davie...ditto. The slowest talking color commentator ever, and one of the worst at telling you the obvious. It used to be Bill Curry.

And how in the world did Brent Mushburger not make this list?

I'm amazed that jack edwards didn't make the list. He takes homer broadcasters to a whole new level.
