Yankee players not showing up to the All-Star game

4-5 players that did not show up the the All-Star game are Yankee players. ARod gets an excuse for having surgery. It's just really pitiful in my opinion the other players didn't even show up!

I would come up with every possible excuse not to go, personally.

3 days off or a meaningless exhibition? Especially without having back to back days off from March ---> Early October.

meh...I think they are compensated quite well for their efforts.

EVen though I'm not a fan of the "this game means everything" deal, this game is far from meaningless. Home field in the series is a big deal.

Jeter does not get an excuse?

Other than that, the rest of them are disgraces to the game.

Which is among the stupidest of all the ashole moves Selig has made. Instead of rotating year to year as its been for a century, we'll have home field determined by a game where fans play a major role in selecting the participants.

Dude just went 5-5 and broke 3000, yet decides to be a no-show for his league. He didn't have to play, just be there.

totally agree, but it is what it is. San Fran, I'm sure, appreciated it last year.

The fact that he went 5-5 does not discount the fact that he is still recovering and should feel no need to either play in nor participate in an exhibition game.

I can just about guarantee you that everyone of the guys there tonight has some sort of injury nagging them.

Even if Jeter didn't wont to play (which is fine by me) at least show up it. Look at the other players who aren't playing because of injuries, they are there. It just makes the one who didn't look stuck up and care more about "I" than anything else.

It's a glorified scrimmage. 3 days away from the game doesn't happen often. Take advantage of it.
