I will say package deals rarely work out in the end.

And you're basing this on.... the Nance/Rogers package deal?

Need a bigger sample size IMO. That's one example of a QB that never should've been here based on talent, and a WR head-case that was a waste of insane talent.

If you have another example, please tell me. I just can't think of any others off the top of my head that we've recently had.

I'm suggesting most recruits that claim they are a package deal rarely end up at the same school after NSD. I'm too lazy to cite a bunch of examples. But anyone that has followed recruiting the last 5 years has seen quite a few occasions where kids claim they are going to the same school only to end up at different places after NSD. In the end, most kids circle the wagons with their families and make the best decision for them regardless of what drives that decision. I hope Phillips ends up a Vol. If he does, I think it will be more than just having a buddy on the team that causes him to make that decision.

I'm gonna go with Justin Martin for the next 2015 commit.

I also have no freaking clue how they're going to work the numbers out.

I hate doing this... But based on things I've seen recently, it seems as if Miller might not be apart of this class

Between now and February, we will probably lose 3, 4 or 5 current players. It happens every year!

Disciplinary issues, academic issues, not getting playing time issues.

Creer and Moore, although Moore ended up being the one who played and played well at UT.

Here's my drop list ( It's all speculation, no mean to diss the players ):
Commits
Lovingood ( Long Snappers usually walk on, Dime a Dozen unless he can play center also )
Hall ( I really liked this kid to :( )
Miller ( I'm very unsure at this point)
Bruce ( I hope he stays, love the hit )

Current Guys
Bowles
Orta
King
Blanc
Lemond Johnson

I suspect a few surprises, but these guys stick out.

Lovingood could quite possibly become a walk on. His father is a very big UT fan and those who know understand he has strong ties to TN. This is no disrespect to Lovingoods talents though.

I predict he grey shirts and becomes a scholarship player in 2016.

In case anyone is wondering, right now we are looking at 93 scholarship players for next year. That means 8 guys currently committed or on the team will be asked to move on.

The only guys with three years that can go pro early are:

Randolph
Maggitt: not quite ready
Von: injury hurts his chances
McNeil: not ready but getting better
Croom: not ready
3+ OL: not happening

Lots of guys can transfer: in addition to those already mentioned, you could add Peterman, Alex Ellis TE, etc.

Also if any of next years seniors graduate early, they can transfer and play right away somewhere else.

Wait until they all fax in their letters on signing day and then let Butch make his decisions. Pick the best 25 out of 100?

Butch has to have already made the decisions long before the LOI's are signed. UT has 100 signed LOI's come in, the NCAA would shut the program down.

I think there are guys already on the team who will be given their release . I'm sure there are many guys who see the writing on the wall and will want to go somewhere else to get playing time

I think he will get one after Giampapa graduates next year.

Dudes. Coach looks like a mafia boss in that GIF. Imagine him with a voice like Joe Pesci or Robert DeNiro.

I'm waitin for him to put the headphones on and say, "Hey, Vinnie, I need ya ta drop a dime on a guy." :whistling:

I think he looks like Sargent Carter from the Gomer Pyle show.:)
