I know of people I work with receiving food stamps that have no business having them.

which means at least 1 in 6 people will be voting themselves a raise come the next election. Sounds like a tough choice to make

complicit congress is a disaster, especially in a shoddy economic situation. Bush was similarly idiotic in the post 9/11 malaise, especially as his second election drew nearer.

While getting Obama out of office may help, it won't solve the heart of the issue here. The entitlement state and disincintive to get off government help is the real culprit here. Self dignity and pride are in short order these days.

Just heard recently that Meharry (health careers school in Nashville) has a representative come talk to each incoming class about how to get set up with food stamps. Nearly every student cashes in. Future doctors, dentists, and pharmacists.

I got a GS-13 with three kids and a stay at home spouse that receives food stamps (or in his case some kind of debit card thing). Complains all the time about not getting enough money for food.

You just nailed one of the HUGE problems with liberals. They are often very selfish with their own things but generous with the property of others. Their elected leaders frequently slip by admitting that they consider tax cuts a "spending increase". IOW's, it all already belongs to them and it is only their benevolence that allows us to keep any of what we earn.

One of the best definitions of a slave is a person whose labor product as a resource legally belongs to someone else. The liberal political intelligensia considers the American people slaves.
