You Have Been Hired By The Bama A.D.

If FSU doesn't hire him as their offensive coordinator, they're missing a real opportunity.

His name is now coming up for the La Tech head job as well. I actually know him fairly well. He's a year older than I am and from here.

. . . and obviously you're brilliant for bringing up Jerry Glanville.

Here's a name that will never be considered but would do good job - Chris Hatcher.

It's not Alabama, but don't be too shocked if Glanville ends up at North Texas. I think it would be funny having him College Football. I wonder if he would leave tickets for Elvis at the box office. :eek:lol:

I think La Tech is a good job to start with at the D-I level. The conference isn't that great and you can recruit out of a much better base of players than your league opponents.

I'd hire Al Borges as the head coach. That would provide a major boost for Bama, while crippling the Auburn offense at the same time.

Maybe they should've waited for a little research on coaching intrest before they went after their pound of flesh and sent Shula packing. But being as they did'nt Ill throw this guy in the running...Tulsa Hurricanes coach Steve Kragthorpe.

I think that's definitely the most perplexing thing about this whole deal.

All the next candidate has to say is .....We already know what you offered Rich, I won't take a dime less! Seems like they backed themselves in a corner as far as $$$$!

I still would hire Bobby Johnson!

The hot word around town is Nick Saban is coming.

Tongue firmly in cheek, I hope.

On a serious note, I heard Assistant Coach Luther Horatio Van Dam Of the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles passed on the Bama Job.

Instead of doing the research to look up candidates that are viable and wanting to move up, or have ties to Alabama, you selected the two names that every mullet lover in Tuscaloosa already knows.

It was a cop out for you to select such simple candidates.
sometimes that's what makes the most sense. a thought process apparently lost on Bama admin.

Fire a guy with no idea of who will be his replacement.

their candidate wish list reads like Richie Rich's christmas list. difference being, richie rich will lilkely get what he wants for christmas.

And Dauber will be promoted from special teams coach to the defensive coordinator.

Well smart guys, let's see your lists.
First, the Bama fan base is not going to settle for a coordinator. So, I might have a list in my back pocket, however, I would only show the A.D. the list of current or former head coaches that coach at schools who presently have less prestige than Bama.
  1. Mark Mangino
  2. Mike Stoops
  3. Bill Snyder
  4. Jim Grobe
  5. Chan Gailey
  6. Mike Leach
  7. Larry Coker
If Alabama can't at least bring in Coker, then Bama should look at successful I-AA coaches.
