I'm selling this one. What information would Slive have in advance of the infractions committee meeting? I mean...it's all just speculation at this point. Has he reviewed the response UT was preparing? Does he have any foreknowledge of the legal rationale likely to be applied in this case?
I doubt it.
Who would want to come here with all that is hanging over the program?!?! It is not as good a job (to outsiders) as we like to think it is, and that is just a fact. Another Pearl that will endorse UT tradition as he did will be hard to find. IMO

He was previously a lawyer that represented AD's that went before the Committee on Infractions (including Illinois with the Deon Thomas/Pearl deal, though I think they fired him), so I'll say he has some understanding of the process.
Not sure how much to rely on the estimated punishments, because I think they are supposed to be determined at the hearing. Would it shock anyone if the NCAA had their mind made up, though?
Normally, I don't mind your posts 99gator, but this is just dumb and inflammatory. Of course it will be in the University's hands. If you're here to trash on UT, then please ****.
the point of the post was i wouldn't trust hamilton to make a good hire.
i am guessing most of you probably feel the same way.
If Raleigh works out with the baseball team, Hammy could be a solid 3 of 4 with his coaching hires (also assuming Dooley works out). I also wouldn't lump the whole of the University of Tennessee in with your original comment. That was my real objection.
Slive sucks so bad
