to be fair, OE's job is one of those things that government is empowered to provide. From a US Constitution perspective, he is "promoting the general welfare" in that what he does benefits everybody, not just a select few.

A.) The welfare state, universal healthcare, environmental types...

I mean, who cares if the government has failed miserably at welfare for 80 years!

We should be glad that OE has a taxpayer-funded job. Otherwise, he would have more time to paint himself blue and run around the countryside in a kilt.

I don't like law enforcement. I've never committed a crime. I've never been convicted of a crime. I have been harassed for no reason multiple times.

I know, "It's not all of them, just a few bad apples", blah blah.

The fact of the matter is police break the same laws they bust people for all the time, but are somehow elevated above that law. Case in point- speeding. If a squad car is exceeding the speed limit without it's sirens on, the law is being broken. We've all seen them zip by 15 or more miles an hour without their lights on.

Most agencies have policies against running lights and sirens because of traffic accidents that it can cause.

so if a cop is en route to a situation that requires surprise, or at least some measure of stealth, he or she must still respond by driving the speed limit with sirens blaring and disco lights blazing?

what's really funny/aggravating is when a cop is purposely driving 5mph below the posted speed limit and a bunch of doofuses (usually with Illinois or Michigan tags) are scared to pass.

I pass the hell out of those guys... I can't stand the retards that slam on their brakes when they see a cop, even though they were doing the speed limit to begin with.

i blew past a cop doing this at the speed limit. when he pulled me over he said it was because i was showing a lack of respect. he gave me a ticket for 5 miles over the speed limit.
