FWIW, I have a system worked out for defeating speeding tickets in court. I have sucessfully defended myself against the last 4 I have gotten. It royally pisses off the prosecutor when you go into court knowing your rights and what to say (or more importantly, what not to say).

A few hours preparation and a little self-confidence goes a long way.

You should have objected on due process grounds and demanded a trial. Was it your initial appearance? Most times you show up for your court date and plead not guilty, and then they set a trial date...usually a couple of weeks later during another traffic court date. You have a right to trial and to question your accusers.

Driving school is a joke. The last one I went to, about 15 years ago, all they talked about was how everything is a matter of safety...which is complete BS.

You got to fight for your rights! I understand though, it is a pain, I just find it fun.

As far as the bolded part, that screams revenue enhancement, not legitimate safety training.

Several small township police departments have been shut down in Ohio for being stupid with regards to traffic violations.

Good for you!
