That smell is meat on the smokers, beer and bourbon in the glasses and freshly cut grass. Football is in the air my friends!

Just wanted to stop in and say good luck and I hope you guys have a great season (except for that 1st weekend in October).

Good luck this year dog. Ya'll got a good shot of going 2-0 or 0-2 to start the season. Richt's typically bad at losing the early season challenges, but I think, if the new defense steps up, ya'll might be the team to upset Bama in the SECCG this season.

That is, as long as you can get past that first Saturday in October...

Good luck to the Dawgs. I saw where Herbie picked Gurley (hey that rhymes) as a Heisman front runner. You guys may have two invited to NYC...

At least we won't have to debate this year who is better - Murray or Bray, LOL.

Hey Fade, whats your view of the Clemson game with your inexperienced defense against a dangerous Clemson offense?

Honestly, this game makes me nervous. Recent history shows that we have a tendency to start the season slow and then progress as the season unfolds. We cannot afford to do that Saturday. For me there are a few things we have to do:

1. Our D has to get pressure on Boyd. If we can effectively put pressure on him and force quick throws then it will mask our db's inexperience. If not he will pick us apart.

2. We have got to control the clock with the run game. Clemson averaged something like 80 plays per game last year to our 66. If we cant hold the ball and get some sustained drivers our d is going to be gassed very early in the game.

3. Protect Murray. If we can keep him off his backside and out of trouble he is a much better passer. This will be aided with a good running day from Gurley and Marshall.

Could be a shootout but who the hell knows. Just cant wait for the season to start

tldr: Dawgs have to do just about every key football cliche to win the game.

Was reading the review on College Pick'em of the game it states UGA has all new secondary with the exception of one guy. That might be what get's ya.

I can't believe that Gurley has turned out to be as good as he was last year. Pretty rare accomplishment to see a true freshman in the SEC with 1000 rushing yards. If he can manage to escape the sophomore slump it could be a really special year.

We have 5 dbs with playing time that returned. However we have had a couple of injuries, a suspension (same **** different year) and a few freshman have stepped in and taken away spots from upperclassman.

Let's be honest. Even with the NFL players we had last year we still weren't that great of a defense.

Two kids to watch

Tray Matthews.
Very physical kid with play making ability. Will be raw but should develop into All-SEC type player.

Tray Matthews Junior Highlights

Brendan Langley. Long rangy db that has lock down potential.

Refreshing to have a non-volunteer fan not be a troll, knowledgeable, and sane. Best to the Dawgs except when you play us, otherwise "Beat Bammer"! I'll definitely have to catch the Clemson/UGA game. Thanks for being a good sport! GBO!

The smell of Peay is in the air.

Is that as in "You're in" or as in "Urine". I always felt sorry for those guys when they would chant "Gooooo Peay"! I grew up about 40 miles SW of Clarksville in Houston County. Still own 1 1/2 acres there but don't get there but about once a year. Love that Tennessee though; will always be a Tennessee Hillbilly. Growing up could go 4 miles west or 6 miles east to get the real 100% clear moonshine, if you knew the right people of course; in a dry county too. Ha! Ha! Don't know what the proof was but it not only would put hair on your chest, it would take it off too. Good Ole Days! Don't know any of those guys anymore.

Thanks Chuck. My mom taught me at an early age how to be a guest in someone else's house. Plus, this board has always been good to me and my family.

I have a buddy that is a UGA fan coming up from Atlanta to go to the game with me this weekend, and he is very high on Matthews as well. Needless to say, we'll be getting back to the house to catch the rest of your game after ours is over. Good luck!
