I think he was fully aware that another loss would make even more money swing in his favor to hire a new coach. Hart's decision was made after the Mississippi St. game and now he timed it perfect.
Hart's decision was made today. The season was going to play out regardless, with Hart making a decision based on the totality of everything involved. A loss down the stretch would be a dagger and everybody knew it. Truthfully, I think Hart, deep down, feels a sense of relief, considering all the things going on in the ath dept right now.
Just hope we do the search the right way and our program gets a deserved freaking break with the next coach.
This team has no chance to get to 6 wins with Dooley. I have been less of a Dooley supporter over the last couple of weeks, but now I'm firmly planted on the "FIRE DOOLEY" bandwagon. He has to go.. NOW!!
This is why i think the AD has been silent and have thought that all along. I think Dooley has been "fired" for some time now. I mean Dooley's attitude has been more and more lax in the past weeks to the point of "i'm canned anyway so what?" I just don't think he's going to make a move on Dooley until he actually has someone lined up and someone that will wow everyone. I'd even bet even if it meant Dooley staying on for another year. Yes almost guaranteed we'd suck worse, but to be honest I'd rather get a good one then just another 2 year lay over....
I have a question. I'm not trying to start up anything or "stir the pot." What are the benefits of our AD staying quiet about CDD's job status? From what I have read on here our recruiting is not where it needs to be and it appears other attractive SEC schools will be looking for a coach as well. Somebody educate me on why the AD wouldn't issue a statement of support or lack thereof and pull the plug. I will hang up and listen. Oh and as you can tell I'm no "insider" just a guy that loves UT.
If you don't think we have even a shred of a chance of beating Vandy and Kentucky, your head is screwed on wrong.

Kentucky, maybe (remember last year?)

Easy to say that now. But it wouldn't of been right imo to of fired him last year.
Yeah. I remember last year. Nobody will forget it. Unlike last year, we know how to score some points. Kentucky is worse now than they were last November and we are healthier than we were last year. The Kentucky game is going to be a bloodbath. I just have a hard time believeing we lose to Vandy. That's always a team we manage to beat no matter how bad we are (minus 2005). We're going up against two beatable teams, meaning we still have a shot at the postseason. When you're in that spot, it's dangerous to come out and fire the coach. that's when you start losing stupid games in stupid ways.
