Imagine this type of happening in our football program... Oh yeah, it was kinda like this wasn't it... But did the University sit back and let anyone bring us further down... Not just "NO",,,, Hell NO!. No way. Don't F with UT football. It's a religion here...Did the university extend the contract of the pretender coaches that preceded the one we have now. NO. No they went out and got Butch and a couple of years later, look at his team... And its not just Tennessee folks, the nation knows UT is turning football around....

Now consider the history of the Lady Vols.... Many more titles than our boys of winter, yet, I hear nothing but, give Holly another year....To do what, ! ? . Match Pat Summit's career loss total?

I have been a fan all of my adult life to this lady vol program and I am torn up over this.... I am actually exhausted from watching that game.

Holly:
She didn't coach at all...Didn't work the refs...Didn't calm down her players...Subbed like she was scared...
And stood there with her arms either folded or on her hip the entire game... She is in over her head!

Watch the game again.... Moments into the second half she was looking up at the clock. Yes" watching the clock. . . A coach only does that in two instances... Hurry up and run out, or, because it is running out and they don't want it to... I wonder which thought was in HW's mind?

I am going to shut up now. To the dismay of some and the delight of others I am too upset to post anymore ... all I can think of is how the road to the final four was almost magically paved for us and we got a driver who wrecked the bus.... Dave, take this serious. . . HW just got out-coached by a guy that struggled to even get a coaching job and by an unranked team with no known players".

I may need find a defibrillator.

Sorry Vol Nation, but if I continue to post this mad, I may say something I will regret... TTY tomorrow.

Sigh.

Lady Vols may never see another final four. And the days of not making the tournament are coming.

Good Grief. Reynolds was out. Carter and Graves had broken fingers and Syracuse's threes were going down. Looked like we tried a bunch of defenses to try to slow them down. When you get that deep into the tourney you're playing hot teams and they had a good day.

The truth is, this is the best thing that could have happened for the returning players. I hope it hurts until next year about this time and it motivates them.

They played hard in the tourney, I'm proud of them and the coaches.

No actual coach would be inclined to spew vitriol about another coach. Surprised with the attention the OP draws...squeaky wheel and all I guess.

I see it more like this.. Fulmer was VOL family--- the program was going down, but then he went to the SEC championship game, so that bought him another year. They didn't do well the next year and he was fired.

I know she came after Pat, but Holly is VOL family. She's been with the program since forever--- and Pat picked her. Maybe if she was a newbie coach (like Dooley/Kiffin) I could see there MIGHT be a chance they would look elsewhere, but truthfully I doubt it. She is making the tournament and was in the elite eight this year--plus, like I said, she is considered far above some newbie where the VOLS are concerned.

This year was not at all "magically paved" to the Final Four. You like to hear yourself talk a little too much, which I think is why you say a lot of inaccurate and dumb things--such as your absurd comments about why teams use a zone defense. This year's route to the final four was in fact quite difficult--having to beat a solid Green Bay team, then a good ASU team on their home floor, followed by a good OSU team, followed by another good team in Syracuse. That was a tough road.

The year we completely choked against Louisville--that was the year when we had a relatively easy path to the Final Four: we played our first two games at home, and then Baylor got beat and so we avoided facing them. This year was harder--but we had a better team. We should have stuck with our zone the entire game, and I'm not even sure that would have made the difference. Syracuse was unconscious in the first half. Losing Reynolds hurt us as Cooper had a bad game; and Carter wasn't good either. On offense our ball-movement was slow--again--and Russell was never a factor. We faced zone defenses all year--and yet never learned the proper way to attack them.

All of guards need to shoot thousands of three-point shots between now and the first day of practice next year, because we will be small next year and will need to be a much better outside/three-point shooting team. I was very encouraged by DD's play in the tournament: It seemed like, with the stakes quite high, she finally decided to drop her attitude and just play, and she was very good, though she didn't shoot well against OSU. But she was focused and just a completely different (and much better) player in the last half-dozen games. That's what we need from her. It is annoying to lose again in the elite eight--that's three times in recent years.

Kiffin was a bad hire, but they bought into it. How many failing years did they give Dooley? Still waiting for the football program to make that big step after BJ year 4. Hope this is the year for it. Holly isn't going away.

I am still confused by no known players.... Hello Butler and Peterson

I know she's not... Nor am I.
I care about this program to stand with it for 30+ years and will be a fan tomorrow.
And I will be tough on it when it needs someone to be tough on it. We don't need HW-cheerleaders right now... We need realists...Given the hand she was dealt she under-achieved. Badly!

vol66,,, if you are a coach and you think Holly has done well with the talent she's been given.... You're not of my coaching caliber.

There are 349 women's college basketball programs in the AA. We did lose in the Elite 8. Know what that means? 341 teams didn't get that far. Holly will be here next year. And, hopefully, there are no injuries that hold us back from the start to the finish.

Two more LV fans that are satisfied with Holly and the LVs being an "also ran" .......Yay!

Actually, a part of me, the vindictive part of me would love for Hart to fire Holly tomorrow so you could get what you deserve.

Imagine how many top flight coaches would want to come to Tennessee knowing that if they make 3 elite 8's in 4 years they will be fired.

Imagine all the national press. Think Cuonzo Martin times 1 Million.

It would be fun. Then if Hart goes out and misses like he's done every time, remember he got lucky with Jones and Barnes...well that would just add to the glee.

But...I'd rather not go through that again myself and the pragmatic side wins out over my vindictive side.

Here's what I don't get...if it makes one so miserable, stop watching, stop going, stop donating...that is the only thing that moves the needle...but I guess folks just like to howl at the moon.

If injuries happen next season we may have to forfeit games. I'm not kidding.

Exactly what kind of coach are you and what are your coaching qualifications, if I may ask? Just curious.:hi:

++++++++++++++++++

A very good support thread for Hart. He did get Jones and Barnes... Imagine if he gets such a coach for a team with 6 remaining MDAA's?

Feel better?
How's that recruiting class looking for the next couple of years?
(I DID stop giving and going....what's your next idea?)
