Ah, but this guy not only retweets all the racist, homophobic garbage from the bottom of the Cardinals fan barrel, he interleaves it with tweets from all the same jackasses congratulating each other on how they're the best fans in baseball. What sets the Cardinals fans apart isn't their jackassery, it's their pretentious arrogance.

I don't think the best fans in baseball thing was self-perpetuated from the beginning; granted, now there are many bandwagoners and jackasses within the fanbase that believe they're God's gift to baseball. St. Louis is a smallish market that is pretty much dominated by the Cards. People are going to be proud when they get recognition, even though many do take it to the next level with their arrogance.

Not really sure what this has to do with the gameday atmosphere. Any successful sports franchise is going to have legions of obnoxious morons in the fanbase.

When they, as a group, claim to be better than all of the fans of other teams, then this behavior shouldn't exist. They are just as bad as any other group of fans and they top it off with a sense of arrogance about how great they are that you won't find many other places. I wish I knew a single Cardinals fan that didn't fit the arrogant ******* type. A prime example is the primary 'outfield fly rule' supporter in my life, my father in-law. I'm sure the good fans exist in about equal proportions to those in most other fanbases, but not many others claim to be superior in every way and tell everyone that can hear them as a collective.

if santana can throw strikes that aren't straight and down the middle of the plate he might be a little more successful

3-3...flirted with the idea of blowing this easy win in the bottom of the ninth as well. Fortunately, at the end of the day, they decided to take the win.

Another nice pitching outing by the Royals' staff, this time the Royals capitalize. Nice walk off single by Gordon, and his two-hit day brings his hitting streak to 11.

Great two-game day for the Royals. After letting the Sox have their "healing win" on Saturday, the boys in blue got their bats going Sunday and are 1 game up in the Central.

Big series with Detroit coming up!

If Moustakas could stop riding the suck truck that'd be great.

Thanks.

I think he might have gotten off the suck train today. Had a really well hit double. Next time up, took a walk.

Hopefully the four-day stretch against the Tribe will give him more of a lift.

I'm not a huge Dayton Moore fan, but I have a hard time disagreeing with what he said in that article. If the Royals are only six games back from Detroit at the end of July, they have to make a push.

The Royals have a two year window, and everyone in Kansas City knows that. Six games back from the division leader that you have beaten five of eight games this season with eleven left in that series, on top of that those eleven might be against a Detroit team without Peralta, and you have to think that this is the shot to take (especially when Santana will not be a Royal in 2014).

The Royals are in position this year to deal Santana and Holland (closers are fickle from year-to-year, might as well get while the getting's good) and hopefully get Utley in a three-team deal. Utley fixes one of the major offensive woes that KC has had this season, as they have had little to no production from Getz, Johnson, and Gio.

On top of that, Moore needs to finally bite the bullet and admit that Moustakas is a lost cause in 2013. He needs to put Miguel Tejada in the everyday lineup at third.

If the Royals make those moves, the Royals have a chance.

You want to trade Ervin Santana and Greg holland..and compete?

Moreover, the Royals should not even be in such a sad situation this season, even with all their problems at the plate and the problems with Wade Davis and Mendoza. The Royals are currently 8 games back from Detroit; however, the Royals have lost more than 10 games this season by only one run AND in which at some point during said game the Royals had a runner on third with less than two outs who did not end up scoring.

Yost rarely has his guys sac bunt; they rarely even attempt it. And, while it might not have cost the Royals more than ten games (a tie game still must be won at some point), it honestly might have cost this team between four and six wins.

That is the difference between absolutely in the division race right now and, well, needing to go 11 for their next 15 (1 from BAL, 3 from CWS, 6 from MIN, and 1 from NYM). That is doable; and that can put them in the hunt. But, they should have never been in this situation anyhow.
