Forrest Gump is a great movie, I just don't think it is Shawshank great. I didn't know that about Goodfellas, that is crazy.

I'm pretty sure he meant to say Saving Private Ryan. Saving Private Ryan is the one considered to have been screwed over that year. As great as Shakespeare in Love is, it had no right winning BP over SPR.

Goodfellas lost to Dances With Wolves in 1990. and I'd say most people would consider that to be messed up as well.
