I think a lot of people are hard on Stokes because they read the paper or look at Sports center too much and see all the praise he gets which puts it into their minds that he should be getting 15 and 12 every game. Even when Stokes offense is off he never stops rebounding and I love that about him. I see Stokes for what he is. Space eater who will rebound and needs touches here and there. Stokes will surprise people this year I think.
Yeah I agree. I love his motor on getting rebounds. Sometimes his offense frustrates me. But he is one of my favorites. I can see him averaging 13-10 this year.

I'll say Maymon or McRae. Both were amongst the most frustrating players in my recent memory early in their careers, and both have improved beyond my wildest dreams; Maymon almost overnight.

I'll give the edge to Maymon though. Everybody loves a comeback story.

I think people expected more Stokes' offensive game when he came in, when in reality it's not very well developed. And it didn't help that he had to carry the load underneath last year sans Maymon. I think people would have an improved perception of Stokes had Maymon played last year (not saying he's perceived poorly in the first place).

I'm really impressed with Armani Moore, he's a great defensive player and I think he's a good kid at heart. So my favorite player is Armani Moore

Yeah we don't have a Mcbee, Hall, Swiperboy, Hopson type player this year which is awesome. Every player is easy to like. I know a lot of people are hard on Stokes though, and I don't get it?

What was your beef with McBee? He always gave great effort and really came through for UT in a few games, definately a bball VFL.

If you thought someone else should have been playing besides McBee, then your beef should be with CCM as he made the substitutions.:dunno:

I think some folks have the perception Stokes doesn't give maximum effort due to his stoic demeanor. People tend to like a player who wear their emotions on their sleeve and thatÂ’s not Stokes. I would like him better if he got about 2 charging fouls a game while dunking the ball. HeÂ’s physically a bull and he needs to make the SEC his china shop! I do like the current version also.

Swiperboy, Hopson, and Hall really never irked me like most people, but 2 of my favorite basketball days in the last decade were the days McBee and Tatum graduated.

Thompson because I've watched him play at Blackman high school, blackman middle school and even a little before that.
Although I will pull for them all.

Richardson. I love hustle players and he brings an awesome defensive intensity. He seems like a great kid too.
