IBO- Nope, I dont work at that one, but I do go to school at Sullivan North. I work at the original pal's...downtown. It's a lot harder of a store to run as far as upkeep because it was the very first built and most of the stuff is outdated. Just an example, our bun toater takes around 30 seconds to toast 2 buns, the rest of the stores all you do is drop the buns and before you can say "frenchie fry" you have toasted buns.

As far as the Sauceburger, I like them every now and again...making the sauce is a little unappetizing though.

And just so you know you never have to worry about anyone spitting in your food at Pal's. We have extremely high standards and a very strict owner, man named Thom Crosby. I have never seen anyone do anything to someone's food, and I doubt I ever will.

Good deal K-Town. Im in that area almost every day. The orig store is a landmark IMO, you'd think Crosby would have the "Idea" store a little more in shape for todays sales. It and the one over on Lynn. Keep up the good work and go VOLS!

Not counting the landscaping I did through most of high school, my first real job was bagging groceries at Kroger.

Crappy job, but good times, nonetheless. Can't tell you how many times a friend would come by on my break with a pint of something to keep it interesting.

Also, the back stockroom at the Kroger in Lebanon, Tenn saw lots of "action", too, if you know what I mean. LOL

Drummer in a Rock band in the late 50's. 15 years old and made $75.00 a week playing at Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge in Asheville, NC. That was good bread for an ADULT back then.

Is that the Kroger out toward the hospital? I used to eat at the Subway out there quite a bit.

Yeah. There's only one in Lebanon.

I don't get to Lebanon much anymore. Do they still have that drive through beer store? I thought that was the coolest convenience store ever.

I was a janitor at Tiffany's Bakery in Westown Mall. I cleaned up the kitchen and washed all the trays after the bakers had left for the day.

I was an all-purpose boy for a realtor who had the great idea of buying victorian fixer-uppers in Midtown Memphis and renovating them, but who was so natively cheap he hired a 70 year old ex-carpenter w/ me (16) as his helper to do everything from tearing out walls to fixing plumbing and old wiring.

Did you realize that when they say electricity can cause explosions, they mean genuine, m-80 and better explosions? Did you know, as a rule, the fire department has almost no sense of humor? Did you know it takes a really long time for eyebrows to grow back?

Other bit of trivia about the job- Boss bought a majority of the shares of Bread when the band decided to (first and only band to do so) incorporate as a publically traded corporation. He did it 6 months before Gates wrote "The Goodbye Girl" for the movie soundtrack, violated the corporation contract, and drove the band and said boss into bankruptcy.

Never really got a clear explanation for that when I was living in there... closest I got was it was unfair to disabled who couldn't pump themselves, but the redneck guy who said it followed it with a joke that made me scared to be in the same bar with him......

Worked at Giant making $1.25 an hour stocking and bagging groceries. This was back in 1968. WOW! That's a long time ago.
