The earliest I remember is Flash Gordon I was 4 or 5 I guess. I remember because when he stuck his hand in the stump I yelled at the screen, "no Flash don't" My mom promptly snatched me up and made me leave the theatre. I was so mad.

The earliest I remember is Flight of the Navigator. I'm pretty sure I had it memorized. First time I remember going to the movies I was 5 or 6. My Mom took me to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They had a guy there dressed as Rafael, so I thought I was really meeting him. Good memories, cool thread OP.

I can't recall exactly but if I had to guess it would have been a Disney or Pink Panther (Peter Sellers) movie.

That movie was terrifying as a kid.

Pretty sure it was Disney's The Apple Dumpling Gang. However my second movie was more memorable! It was Smokey and the Bandit and I was six (yeah, what were my parents thinking?). Needless to say I left the theater with a whole new arsenal of words at my disposal! For the next 3 months "sum bit_ch*" was my favorite thing to say LOL!

Apple Dumpling Gang and Smokey are among my early memories as well, along with Disney movies including The World's Greatest Athlete. Also Eat My Dust with Ron Howard and the Pink Panther movies from the 70's.

My first R rated movie was Boys from Brazil when I was in the 5th grade.

My older sisters had friends who had the Bandit Trans Am. They would take me for rides and put the peddle to the metal, good times for a 10 year old.

The Jungle Book in 67 or 68, at the Tennessee. A couple years later, mom bought the album (I guess what you would call an audio book today). I remember listening to it over and over and over. Great movie.

The first drive-in movie I remember seeing was the Planet of the Apes. We saw it at that drive-in on Broadway behind the Kmart. Still remember the blankets layed out for us kids in the back of mom and dad's 1962 Chevy II station wagon. The good ol' days.

Jungle Book at the Tennessee Theater in 67/68 was my first movie too, I also had that same record.

I grew up in North Georgia (Catoosa County) and the county police force actually drove those for a time except they were white. One of them lived in my neighborhood and my friends and I used to go by his house just to stare at his car LOL! To this day I think the 77 "Bandit" Trans Am is one of the coolest looking car designs ever!

What an awesome place to see a movie! I took my wife there a couple of years ago on Valentine's once when they were showing A Roman Holiday

The first movies I remember in theaters was either Ghostbusters, or Baby (some movie about dinosaurs living in the Congo that eat people or something). I don't remember what was first, but I do know I was very young, <5.

My first mouth being washed out with soap was because of me singing the theme song while I was riding my big wheel in my dad's garage with him in there

I don't actually remember my first trip to a movie theater,it would of have most likely been in the back seat of the station wagon or a 55 pontiac :),mom and dad would load us up and off we would go

the first walk in had to either be the Strand or The State theaters in Kingsport Tn. now those gave the meaning to the word Big Screen, which would have been on a Saturday and we got in free for Bunny Bread wrappers or Pepsi lids

which probably means it was an Elvis movie :)

Apple Dumpling Gang was the first I remember going to see. I've seen Smokey and the Bandit so many times I have it memorized.

Alrighty then...

What was the first movie you seen with a date or spouse? This could get interesting. :)

The first movie my wife and I saw together was (this was 34 years ago, so I probably will get corrected) Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I Spit On Your Grave, horror double feature at the drive-in in Blytheville, Ark.
