Mozart and Haydn are 2 of my least favorite composers. Boring as hell for the most part.

No. Music should only sound like what I grew up with up to my teenage years. Everything else should be banned.

I despise everything in the country music genre to come out over the past 15 years. Tastes vary I guess.

The Doors- terrible band, terrible songwriting

Grunge- most deplorable era in music, horrible songwriting, below average musicianship and even wore ideals

KISS- quite possibly the most overrated band in history, without the makeup they would have never made it

Basically everything after 2000. Especially the garbage that has been put out in the last 7-8 years.

Nirvana. Was a fan in high school, then I realized that NONE OF THEIR SONGS make a single lick of sense.

Tough for me to argue with any of that. I've found a couple of recent albums that I really like, but they are few and far between.

That really just comes with age. Our parents thought our music sucked and their parents said the same thing about the music of the era.

I wonder if there is a study on the psychology of music preference. It seems to be defined in our teenage years/early twenties and anything that comes after is considered crap.

FTR, I'm just as guilty. Its rare that I find something new that isnt by anartist that was already around my teens/early twenties.

This is so true. I have been listening to the same band for close to 20 years. I have seen them over 100 times & in 3 countries. I enjoy their early music the most. The new music is not as interesting or carry the same impact as the older music.

I think those years (teens & 20's) define the most memorable time in our life. We often associate the good times to the music that we listened to at that age.

I guess its the most care free tine of ypur life when resposibilities are at their lowest but you are also starting to break away from your parents. Most people love to talk about their glory years in highschool and/or college.
