Your Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Thread III

Excuse my ignorance. But why would it matter if it was touched if Lee caught it anyway. The clock should have started at this said touch?

Yes, and time would have expired before Lee got the ball.

But if you watch the video, at the 2:30 mark you can clearly see space between Hollins' fingers and the ball in each frame. So there's absolutely no evidence to overturn it.

And I think even though the clock started late, there's not enough to say Lee held the ball more than 0.3s either. This win is gonna stand. I would think it would have to be egregious for them to award Kings a win at this point, and it simply isn't even close.

The Grizz got screwed out of a win years ago in Sacramento during the Fratello era. Bibby hit a half court shot at the buzzer and the clock never started but there was only roughly 0.3 seconds left on the clock, but Bibby hesitated before throwing up the shot. Steve Javie was the official and he let the play stand because "there was no way in knowing if Bibby got rid of the ball in time or not."

I'm sure Brown remembers this game too.

The Grizz check in at number 2 on ESPNs Power Rankings

A flashy start is new ground for the Grizz, who somehow find themselves over .500 after 10 games for just the third time in the club's two-decade history. Now Memphis hosts Houston having won 19 in a row at home, after the Courtney Lee-capped comeback from 26 down to Sacramento saved that streak.

I thought by rule you could only get a tip-in with 0.3s on the clock. Is that a relatively new rule?

Yes.
