GGGGGGGGG!!!

Im not there yet with him being that this year. An offensive weapon off the bench, sure.

I want to see what he looks like playing the role he will need to play more than shooting a bunch of shots for a dog crap team.

He might be that 2 years from now. He's young, he's gotta mature, but he can be THAT guy in a couple of years

I'll put this thread back on course.

The only thing preventing this team from contending are the swings and misses with the big wing (Justise, drafting Ziaire over Trey, Smart) and Ja regressing from his 2nd year and not developing any semblance of a shot.

With that said, Jimmy Butler aint the answer....

Just to be clear, you took it “off course.” Was Santi also in this Thursday night party? Was Ja “scheduled” to sit the front end regardless?

He’s never going to be a jump shooter, ftr. Does he need to be really given what he’s got around him now? BC and Edey are really the only ones you don’t want to fire away. Maybe Konchar and GG.

Now, if he truly isn’t going to attack as much, then he’s not going to be an All-Star player because he can’t shoot.

Shooting is work ethic

That’s the problem

Yes, Ja has to learn to shoot the ball. He doesnt have to be Steph Curry but the other team has to respect the shot. Shooting 29 or 30 percent when you are left wide open hampers the offense. Missing parts of 2 years and clearly coming back with a more broken shot is a concern.

You overdrafted Edey under the premise of a PnR threat but if Ja cant hit wide open threes, you neuter Edey...

FO has visibility to his work ethic so, if it’s poor, they shouldn’t be compounding it with their roster and lineup decisions. “Old Ja” will be broken down so no sense hanging on too long if you don’t see effort. Move on and get a return.

Edey was a questionable pick at that spot and just worse if the thinking was Ja was going to improve his shot. He’s not going to improve his shot, even with work imo. We definitely don’t run much PnR with him and Ja that I’ve noticed, so perhaps they’ve ditched that plan.

Absent the Ja doesn’t care narrative…the staff seems comfortable rolling out any combination of the 15, with JJJ being a constant, and being competitive. Particularly against the bottom half. That’s why Ja sitting out NOP on a back to back wasn’t too surprising to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if he sits the Raptors on 2/5 and/or Phoenix/LAC the following week.

Credit to Jaren who clearly has reduced his injury rate and lowered his dumb foul rate to a tolerable level. Definitely the centerpiece of the team, and maybe the reason for whatever we are saying Ja is(n’t) doing.

The Grizz depth is as good as any franchise in the league. Why ruin it by trading for a cancer (Butler). It’s a great thing that it’s been said publicly that he doesn’t want to be a Grizzly. The feeling is mutual.

What will piss me off is if we see the Grizz do a dumb trade like salary dumping Kennard for a couple future 2nd rounders. Sure, he’s gone in the offseason, but he’s an asset for a team desperately needing to make a playoff run.
