I may just be different, but here's my stance. I work with plenty of people that are Florida state fans, bama fans, and so on, but outside of football, they root on other teams in the collegiate ranks. I for one, can't stand that ****, I stay loyal in every sport to the Vols. **** that allegiance to other teams outside of what you like in one certain sport. Nonetheless, y'all's stance on this?

I agree totally.

However, outside of women's basketball, I am pretty spoiled

I grew up on both Tennessee and Michigan (my dad graduated from U of M, the rest of my immediate family is all Vol) so as long as you have a legitimate reason for it I don't think it's an issue. Tennessee still takes priority (mostly in football; it's more of a toss-up in basketball) but I do root for Michigan as well.

For many years I worked with an FSU alum who was raised in Louisville.

During football season he's a Nole fan and a UK fan during basketball season.

Say, whatever happened to the kid Bumi who used to post here?

He switched teams about as often as Taylor Swift switched boyfriends.

I would say that fits me somewhat but I still watch most/attend some Vols hoops games. I didn't watch like five or six UT games compared to around three for Michigan, but then again there was more of a reason to watch Michigan this year.

He's a Nole first, but he's quick to sport UK gear during basketball season.

I don't think there is anything wrong with pulling for two different teams as long as you have a legit reason for it. I have a friend that is a Bama fan because he grew up in B'ham, but he also is a Texas Tech fan because his mom and dad graduated from there and he went to school there for a year.

I am a fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. To H E double hockey sticks with all other teams.

I wear my orange proudly win lose or draw.

nothing wrong with cheering for another team as long as it isn't done at the expense of your chosen team

I'm a huge Vols fan, always, and a Chicago Bulls fan, and a Dallas Cowboys fan.

It's not that I don't pull for Bama in sports other than football, it's that I'm not nearly as interested in those sports.

Pull for two collegiate teams religiously: UT and WKU because I have a degree from both. Didn't even know about WKU until 6 yrs ago when my family moved from FL to Bowling Green, KY while I was attending UT. Follow UofL to a minor extent mostly because I hate UK so much and it gives me another chance for satisfaction at UK's expense.

Haha have fun with Romo for another 6 years, LOL

Oh, I despise the Cowboys. The teams I follow are the Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks (where I grew up), and the Vols (where I was born and where both my parents graduated, thus instilling a lot of orange from as long as I can remember).

I was being facetious, since I thought the topic of the OP was strange coming from someone who lives in GA, is a UT fan, a Bulls fan, and a Cowboys fan (last time I checked, Chicago had an NFL team and Dallas had an NBA team).

The issue for me isn't pulling for 2 teams, it's pulling for one team in football and another in basketball. Because in my experiences, 99% of the time the person does it because the school they root for in football isn't very good in basketball.

I'm talking Alabama football/Kentucky basketball "fans". I've known Tennessee football/Kentucky basketball "fans". I currently know one guy who's an FSU football/UNC basketball "fan", and another who's an Alabama football/Duke basketball "fan". Sorry I don't count those unless you have a REALLY good reason, i.e. you went to both schools or something but even still you need to pick one. And in my experiences, the team they like in football they actively root against in basketball.

There are reasonable exceptions, like you went to school or grew up near a school that doesn't have an FBS football program (i.e. Tennessee Tech) but plays D1 in basketball. That one I can buy, or like I said you went to school at 2 places that have FBS teams.

But most are simply bandwagon fans, and even if you say went to both Tennessee and North Carolina, I would think you'd still root for both and not say hate UNC football or UT basketball.

Me, I can't fathom rooting for UT football and picking another basketball team. It just doesn't make sense to me at all. How can you love the colors, cheers, and fight songs during football season but despise them during basketball season?
