Well, I guess to get back on the issue, I personally support it 100% and hope that this is not the last, however, I do like the idea of having a very high criteria. It needs to be very significant. To us and Aggies everywhere, Acie was the t.u. slayer and that goes a long way for many old ags.

Congratulations...51 other players are SI every year, like I said earlier he was a good guard and I am sure he did leave an impact on College Station. But, in my eyes as a player he was just a middle of the road college guard.

But, congratulations are in order for his jersey retirement. And, I agree with ya TXVOL, the higher the criteria the more impact it will have.

lets count the Pac 10 football players on the cover, the ACC b-ball players on the cover, the SEC, any sport on the cover........

Now lets count the Aggies. Hell lets count the Big 12 kids on the cover......

Are you starting to see my point?

The University of Kentucky gymnastics team probablly has the same amount of articles as the aggies in SI. And yall say, ESPN hates the Vols. Yall dont have any idea what its like down here.

Well, that can be attributed to crappy athletics...Sorry to say it, but it is what it is.

You are spot on, we have not been elite by any stretch in any sport, just competitive. But Acie was a huge deal.

Never wanted to get into an argument about this....Acie was good for the University and he deserves have his number retired. Good for him.

Acie probably is deserving of this... but I think it's weird they're doing it only 1 year after he's gone. Seems a bit too quick.

I dont know when an "apporopriate" time would be. This is just really convienent because of the NBA allstar break and we are playing a verrry beatable OSU team. You want to make sure you leave with that warm fuzzy feeling when you do something extra like this imo. Otherwise, it was a damn distraction!

A funny thing here: Spurrier's last stab at Peyton Manning was beating Tennessee on the day PM's jersey was retired.

USCe 2005.

ouch...... Oh well, the Mannings came out allright. They are to Brady what Dark Visor was to them. If we were playing t.u. I would be really skeptical about doing it, but we dont have them until next week.
