Any other NBA teams struggling with finaces ? Washington - Charlotte - New Orleans ??

I'm not a huge NBA buff so I'm not sure. I know New Orleans is probably staying put since they're about to change their nickname to the Pelicans (seriously). It would be nice if that allowed the Bobcats to go back to being the Hornets, because I've always thought the Bobcats was a really stupid, high school sounding name.

Of course, it's better than the Pelicans but whatever.

Yeah.
I moved to Jacksonville for a job and have since bought a house here.
I think it would be goofy for me to hate the Jaguars and the local A-Sun teams. To each his own though.

Kudos on listing your location as Hoosierville. :eek:k:
That's funny.

Like you, I moved to Tampa for a job.

It will be a cold day in hell before I ever root for the gators. I did refuse to even consider any jobs in Ala. Can't see how Volinbirmingham can keep his sanity.

You're in FL, but Tampa isn't Gainesville.

What is amazing to me is how the Arena committee gave such an advantageous deal to UL, to the point that it is financially unfeasible to turn a profit. Should have been plenty of MBAs on that committee to realize that.

Lots and lots of NBA teams lose money. 1/3 of NHL teams lose money, only to re-coup their losses and post a positive net income after they collect taxes from the profitable teams. Both those leagues should cut about 8-10 teams. This is probably not relevant to the tread at all.

And I agree with Arencibia, the public shouldn't be funding buildings for wealthy owners. Especially ones who have no intention of building winners, like Bud Adams, who will inevitably beg for a new stadium for his embarrassing organization within the next 10 years.
