One of our biggest on court problems, over the past seven years, has been the outflow of many of our most talented players: Cooper, Hayes, Westbrook, Collins and now Massengill and perhaps Green.
It is almost impossible to build continuity with that high a turnover rate among your most talented players. It appears as though CKH will indeed need her "own" players before this can be turned around.
My main concern with that method is getting top tier talent to commit to a program that appears to be rebuilding. A program that might suffer a few years of borderline NCAAT acceptance. One whose light once shone brightest in all of wcbb, but has dimmed in recent years.
For sure, but it’s becoming a necessity seemingly now in order to sustain a program and floor a team.
Something about unfollowing other Lady Vols doesn’t make sense to me. These kids are usually still friends even if they move on. Also, either Zay or Jaz because they would lose playing time but both? Hmm.
As far as being active, Tennessee is looking for players in the portal to fill some needs. Harper knows that the roster she inherited didn't have enough SEC-caliber players and she wants to build it quickly. And I think (and it seems she does as well) that they are going to have to win some games to pull the type of recruiting classes that are going to scare the South Carolinas and UConns of the world. It's the chicken and the egg for building a program and I think she's going to have to acquire some chickens.
Sorry, but this is just a dumb thing to say. Both players were key pieces for next year's team, and there isn't a proven replacement for them. Horston has the potential to be really good, but now there's no one who can back her up at PG and SG will be Jessie and two unproven freshman. Why would Kellie put herself in this spot, unless it was a disciplinary thing...which doesn't sound the case for Jaz.KJH may just be informing players that they won't fit in her system going forward
Tennessee is one of the best states out there for basketball players..... starting to keep our talented girls home would go a long ways toward correcting things..... The issue I feel like we have had for yrs is that we have too many athletes and not enough basketball players. When I say surprised or not surprised, that's not an indictment on the kid or the program, there are just a lot of factors that go into it. I don't think the coaches and the player were on the same page regarding the PG position. But I do believe that it is a very amicable departure for both sides and there are no hard feelings.

Is it definite that Greene is leaving or is it Massengill and someone else you are referring to?So losing two of her better SEC caliber players is going to help her win more games and help build it quickly? Maybe she should stop counting her chickens, because no one she gets from the transfer portal will be as good as what she's losing...
She still has Tennessee stuff on her Instagram account. Why don't we just go ahead and name every player on the team? Let's get it over with and rip that bandaid off. Anyone heard anything about, Davis, Rennie, Kushkituah, Burrell, McCoy, Key or Horston. Now we have the whole team out there. Oh, we may as well include Darby and Salary. They still coming? How about the coaching staff? They staying?Don't want to start any rumors, has any one heard anything about Emily?
