It's really not up to him, just like it wasn't this year. He simply didn't have a better option to go to. Saying that he will be be on the hot seat for not running off his best QB is a bad take, no matter how you look at it.

Another 4 star took the starting position and the #1 recruit in the country last year pushed him down even further. No shame here, just seems like a deep position and he didn't see himself cracking the starting line up.

Imagine if LSU said the same thing about Joe Burrow or Ohio State said the same thing about Justin Fields. Linebacker is a position of need and, provided he isn't an underperformer, he would be a benefit to the program.
