They can indeed be a special team, but lordie this is a brutal OOC schedule! Unfortunately, we aren't going to sneak up on anyone with the success of last year. We might be a better team this year, with the same or perhaps worse record.

Barnes established the culture on this team by recruiting kids that mostly came from two-parent homes, were respectful, and were able to take some tough criticism by their coaches. The kids that have handlers and don't stick to their word during the recruiting process should be warning signs...

Thank you. I had heard this from three different sources, but talked to a parent that would know this past week, and he also hadn't heard this. However, i do know for a fact that the Farragut coach does not allow his players to play football, and insists they don't play basketball either...

I can definitely see that as those are generally considered Spring Sports. However, I'm talking about Football, and basketball that the Farragut coach doesn't want his players to participate in. These kids only live once, so telling them they have to stick with baseball only is just not right IMO.

I haven't seen anything written about this, but it would sure seem to me that CV is trying to corner the market on East Tennessee recruits. I don't ever recall seeing a coach focus so much on this area.

Is Coach V supposed to BE a good pitching coach? Or just that he is good at evaluating potential talent? IMO, there is nothing more important in baseball than having someone that can teach a kid how to pitch.
