JG was our biggest sideline cheerleader last year. He followed the coaches around all game every game. Soaked up as much as he could all season. He is a competitor and based on all of last season, a great teammate. I would put $10,000 on it that Coach Jones has promised him all offseason...

They changed the rule this year. It's not only for defenseless players. As a ball carrier, if someone hits you with the crown of their helmet above the shoulders, it's targeting. Additionally, if someone leaves their feet in an upward trajectory and hits you above the shoulders, it's targeting.

I just don't get that argument. 2pt conversions are only converted about 42% of the time historically. If you asked 100 division 1 coaches to make that call in that position, 97 would take the pat. 2 of the other 3 that tried for two would not have converted the attempt based on the percentages...

By definition, it was targeting. The player left his feet and hit him directly in the head. That's what the rule is there to prevent. I'm not sure how it wasn't called.

We are lucky to have them both. They should both be featured in this offense more than they are. I feel that the zero routes we throw to wide outs and 2 yard out routes from our ends are plays that are taking touches away from these two guys and are a total waste. We would benefit from letting...

Going for two would have been a mistake. If we already had a loss or two on the season maybe we roll the dice. Being undefeated at the time and calling a high risk play instead of taking an almost guaranteed tie and overtime would have been bad coaching.

If any of you taped the game, go back and check out how open the receiver in the flats was on the last play. He had an easy first and goal if we had went there with the ball. The play worked, we just threw it to the wrong receiver. It sucks that we lost, but the play call didn't cost us the game.

Yep you are right. I was thinking Seattle ran more of a power style. I just flipped over and watched some of the MNF game and every run play was zone blocked. My bad.
