Lifetime doofus award winner Matt Jones reported similar only a short time ago - as passed on to him from a CBS Sports reporter.

It’s interesting if true. Kentucky is almost impossible to win the NCAA at anymore.
1. The fans will crucify him if he doesn’t have a top recruiting class. However, one and done teams are not going to win, so he is stuck in a can’t win situation. His fan base won’t allow him to do what it takes to win and son maybe he sees a different path at Arkansas.
2. Doesn’t the NIL kinda suck at Kensucky?
3. This whole story is probably BS

Cal is apparently buddy buddy with the Tyson chicken family.

They manage to get a deal together, I would wager NIL needs are a part of the package

I know the NCAAT losses are probably the biggest factor in Cal's demise in Lexington, but a close second has to be Coach Barnes
Not really. It’s his SEC Tournament and NCAA tournament records. His last five years were worse than Tubby’s.

Tubby was there 10 seasons and advanced to at least the second round of the NCAA Tournament every year. Cal had a losing season, an NIT appearance, and two first-round exits during his tenure.

Loads of UK fans clamoring for Oates. That would be an interesting choice. Brad Underwood would be a good one too. Scott Drew if they are want someone who has actually won a championship and the Big12 is a question mark that would be the colossal one to worry about.
