Without a doubt Kelly is the home run hire, it all depends on if Currie is more aggressive than past ADs. Hire Kelly let him bring in Helfrich and that offense is primed to take off. The talent is there and I guarantee you would lose hardly any recruits if any at all with that hire. Kids would be excited.

Name one program he's buried? It sure as hell wasn't Oregon. Helfrich did that.

I'm OVER putting gimmick high school football on the field at UT. You would lose me if you hired kelly. I would be done.

Hell, I would take Les Miles if he hired Helfrich in a heartbeat.

(1) bUTch will not get fired any time soon UNLESS he has a total melt down (2) We do not need Chip Kelly. Look what he did the the Kill a dephia Eagles. He got rid of LeShawn McCoy. He didn't use Murray the right way in the run game. etc. etc. (3) bUTch will get another job, IF/WHEN he gets fired. Places like Arkansas, Vandy, USC, NC State, Boston College will hire him......

Colin is saying things just to fill in radio time and kill about 3 minutes of air time.

None of those jobs except for Boston College would hire Butch.

He would be a "settle move" for any of those programs.

The telling comment is the guy would hire Sumlin but would not hire Butch, I would say once Butch is gone from Tennessee he will not be a head coach at a power 5 conference. Which goes to the point a lot of people here believe, bargain basement is where Tennessee shops. The roster is stocked with good quality and even Cowerd said it is a top 15 job, if the powers that be are ever going to make a quality top 15 hire now is the time.

The administration/boosters don't deserve a passionate diehard fan base if they go bargain shopping again. Treating this program like a middle to low tier program

Sad fact about Sumlin is that he would be the perfect coach at A&M if they never came to the SEC and were still in the Big 12

He's from new Hampshire and still lives there. He lived out west for 7 of his 54yrs. Why do you think he likes it out west?

as a Redskins fan, I would've taken Spurrier in a heartbeat here. For two or three years while someone else prepped, I'm not sure I still wouldn't take him now.

We will be the top job open with our good pay, top facilities and fan base. We have a good group of players on campus and a solid 2018 class. The east is weak and winnable right now with what we got. You can build a great team with Nashville, Atlanta & Charlotte recruits. Sprinkle in some top talent from around the country and you are going to the playoffs.

Anything short of a wow hire will be disappointing as selling UT to top notch coaches will be easy.
