One of their fans thinks we are cheating to be recruiting so well.

I am glad no Vol fan thinks another team may be cheating when recriting. It would be embarrassing to see a signed from another team holding a bag full of cash.

Had a blast in Norman (except for the score) and the OU fans were awesome. Very, very nice and fun to hang out with. Only got sh-- talked to by one fan pregame who was 18 years old, and his friends told him to quit acting like a d-bag.

Very glad to hear all of the positive feedback. I think we have a good reputation, but I always worry one person has a bad experience and that's all they'll remember.

I'm looking forward to the Knoxville trip next year, and will return to this forum soon enough. That game already has me worried...

Good luck the rest of the way!

Great time at the game. Their fans were great. Hopefully we can return the favor next year....

gracious to their fans and kick their ass in the game.

The game was pretty mild although I'm not sure that's what was being expected. We only had one report of a fight and it turned out to be a wild goose chase. A bunch of OU fans happened to be in the area of the Vol Walk and were respectful of the players and clapped as they entered the stadium. And even during the game Sooner and Vols fans were respectful of each other no matter what was happening.

We certainly need to reciprocate the hospitality next year in Knoxville. And flip the score of course lol

That may have been me GrandVol haha. I had an altercation with a "fan" who turned out to be an Ohio State fan there with some OU buddies. He was wasted out of his mind and running his mouth before KO. When my wife told him to shut up and turn around, we're here for the experience and you're ruining it, he told me you have a loud mouth wife and I needed to get my ***** under control, then told her to shut the F up, I lost it and shoved his drunk ass down about 3 levels of bleachers. I got down in his face while he was on the ground and told him if he wants to run his mouth to me then go for it but don't talk to my wife like that. Every OU fan turned on him and cops came and got him and told me I could stay. They came and got me later and asked my side of the story and after I told them what happened they kind of understood why it set me off. When i returned to my seat all the OU fans were congratulating me on getting to stay and were glad I wasn't ejected too haha.

OU fans apologized profusely for him and said don't judge us because of him. I told them no worries, everyone was great and he wasn't one of y'all anyway so no judging on my part. My boss is an OU alum so we spent the day with him and his old fraternity brothers and it was amazing. Great experience outside the one incident and it doesn't taint my view of Norman, OU or their fans one bit.

Didn't hear about that one. This one was during the game sometime.

As you should have. Nice job. Talk **** all day, but bring the wife into it and then its on. I lived in Ohio for a while and they have they absolute worst fan base.

Their fans held every play and the refs never called it!

Much like their offense. :banghead2:

I heard they were nice and all but they rolled their joints all wrong...way too skinny and much to long.

It was pre-KO/early 1st qt in the south endzone. Kind of blurry after going to bed at 1am and getting up at 4am to catch our flight out.

The one we got the notification about was at Gate 1, then near Gate 1, then somewhere in the vicinity of Gate 1, maybe around the elevators. Maybe it's outside. It might have been in the garage. We think it's on Asp or Lindsey.

Cops eventually were like "eff it, we'll pick up the bodies later."

Haha. We were in 37 and ended up moving over to 36 with more Vol fans where we could be "shielded" by our own. Crazy thing is that guy ended up back in seat somehow and ran into me and a buddy in the tunnel and started in on me again right in front of the cops. They saw it all go down this time so they took him away for a 2nd time. He was like Hudini, he kept ending back up in sec 37.

What shocked me is a guy selling tickets on the street, said his friend is one of our Assoc AD's and we supposedly sent 800 of our allotted 2000 tix back. I told him I didn't believe him cause we had way more than 2k fans there just roaming the streets. He said it's true y'all must've bought them from other sources. If we brought 3-4k I don't know why we wouldn't have bought them through UT. I tried about a month ago and UT said they were sold out so I don't know what the deal was.

Then he said we'll bring 25k next year and I told him B.S. you'll only get 5-10k tickets unless you're going to find another 15k floating around from UT fans. Which, with our potential next year and the magnitude of that game, I don't see that many tickets being out there. It won't be like Bama in 08 where UT fans were happy to unload tickets and stay at home.

Well, I can tell you the OU personnel that would have been responsible for tossing his behind was hovering about three foot off the ground yesterday. Don't ask me how I know that ping factor went to about 19 with them...

I just about quit and went to get my UT shirt and hat in the truck to join the crowd.

Thank all you Vols for making the trip to Norman. About 95% of Sooner fans are always excited to have opposing fans come to town, but we do have some that will act a fool, believe me, we try to weed them out. I did warn the Vols fans that hung out with us Saturday about them. You never know when they'll show up or shoot their mouth off. But we've had our tailgate spot many seasons at the same spot. We have about 20 regulars that show up every home game, and but usually see around 50-60 for bigger name games (like Tennessee) and hope to see some opposing fans. We had a few Vols fans walk by and were genuinely surprised when we asked them to come over, grab a beer, plenty of food (and some damn good food was on tap this week too) and we are famous for serving Don Julio tequila. Yes, Anejo flavor is the best. Very smooth, very tasty, and everyone who shoots it, agrees. :) The Vols we had the pleasure of visiting with were what we expected from Vol Nation. Some damn good people. Nothing but respect for those guys and for just about everyone I've seen post on here. I haven't been able to visit here much, but what I've read here, most of you would've fit right in our lil corner of Norman. Me and 3 of my Sooner brothers will be making the trip next year to Knoxville. I hope you all saw more of our classy Sooners, and hopefully our classy, respectful Sooners are the only ones who make the trip next year. You guys have a good thing going with Jones and the recruiting ya'll got going. I wasn't as confident as you guys were doomsday about this game. The realist in me still sees OU dropping a game or two this season somewhere. Its just what OU seems to like doing every year, but the Sooner in me says we're in the playoffs! :) I am already nervous as hell about going to Rocky Top next year, but its a stadium I think real college football fans should see, and I will! Good luck to you Vols. I'll be watching you guys this year. Hope to see some of you next year.

There was one fight in the UT section. OU fan was escorted cussing and kicking. UT fans were very respectful and didn't kick his butt out the stands. They allowed stadium police to drag him out the exit.
