The offensive line has been a common topic among the water cooler for Tennessee fans and for recruiting it is a primary focus for the Vols coaching staff. VolNation.com spoke with Arie Kouandjio (Hyattesvile, MD/DeMatha High) to check in and see where he currently stands with recruiting and how his season is going.

“Right now the season is going well,” said Kouandjio. “We are working hard and trying to keep getting better each and every practice. I like where we are headed. We are 4-0 right now and we just beat a top team in the state.”

While Kouandjio is a massive offensive tackle that sees action on defense as well he let VolNation.com know he is still just focused on his senior season and letting recruiting take care of itself.

“Right now I am still just focused on my senior season and my last year in high school,” said Kouandjio. “I am trying to enjoy this moment before it is over and then once the season is over with I will work on setting up dates and schools.”

Does this 6’6 315 pound offensive tackle still have a high interest in Tennessee?

“Oh ya, I am still very interested in Tennessee,” said Kouandjio. “The staff actually just called me before my last game to wish me luck and to check in with me. I think I talk with someone from the staff at least once a week and it has been like that for awhile. It shows me they like me and they’d like to get me out there.”

While Kouandjio is still working towards a perfect season he did let us know about a possible visit to Tennessee.

“Right now Tennessee is a school I will most likely visit,” said Kouandjio. “I am looking at Tennessee, Alabama, Cal, and Miami to visit. I’m not sure yet but I am really thinking hard about Tennessee. I want to check it out and see how they are improving.”

While the Vols continue their quest of improvement week in and week out this massive tackle of the the Maryland area is working hard on improving each week himself and VolNation.com will keep you updated on anything and everything involving the Vols.
