NEW YORK — Tennessee sophomore tight end Ethan Wolf has been named to the John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List. The John Mackey Award is presented to the nation’s most outstanding collegiate tight end. Wolf has 15 catches for a team-best 213 yards with two touchdowns in 2015.
Wolf has started all six games in 2015 and 17 of 18 games in his career on Rocky Top. He has a catch in all six games this season and at least one in each of the last seven games dating to last season.
Wolf opened 2015 with best game of his career, scoring first two touchdowns of his career on 11 and 18-yard scoring receptions vs. Bowling Green (9/5). He became the first UT tight end since Luke Stocker (9/5/2009 vs. WKU) to score two touchdowns in a game. Wolf also had four catches for 55 yards at Florida (9/26).
In 2014, the Minster, Ohio native became the first true freshman tight end to start a season opener in Tennessee history. He saw action in 12 games overall with 11 total starts, making 23 catches for 212 yards.
The last Vol to be on the Mackey Award Watch List was current Oakland Raider Mychal Rivera, in 2012.
