Special Teams is one of the most important aspects of college football or any football to be correct. Having a kicker with the ability to boom kicks into the end zone or to nail the 50+ yard field goal is going to be huge advantage. Having that type of weapon has been key for the 2010 class and when the Vols landed Michael Palardy (Ft. Lauderdale, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) they found th eVols future at the kicking game. VolNation caught up with Michael about his official visit to his school for next four-five years and heard what he thought of the visit.

“The visit was simply amazing, I never saw anything like that before,” said Palardy. “Going in I had never been in an environment like that and coming out it really changed me. I simply can’t wait to get up there and start playing for them. It is like a dream come true.”

Palardy wasn’t the only player from his talented school and he spoke about what he thought two other players who came with him thought of the visit.

“I went up with Gio Benard and also Cody Riggs and from my perspective all three of us loved the visit,” said Palardy. “They were like me, they had never been to a place like that and to see what Tennessee had to offer and how awesome the place is, I think they were in awe.”

While the visit for Palardy wasn’t to give his commitment a few other players did give their commitments to the Vol staff on the visit and VolNation.com spoke to Palardy about those players.

“Demarco Cobbs, Brandon Willis, and Corey Miller committed while I was there,” said Palardy. “To get those three guys is huge for our program. They are all special players and will really help us out in the future. To have the season we had last year and starting out 1-1 this year and still be able to land all these great players speaks on behalf of how talented our coaches are.”

It is not doubt the Vols have a special kicking coming to town next fall and one who will compete for playing time. VolNation.com would like to thank Palardy for his time and wish him good luck on the rest of his senior year.

We could have used Michael this year! Our kicking has already cost us, especially on ko’s. Our guy is ok, he just lacks that little bit that makes the difference. The way Palardy kicks off is very impressive! He is definitly one in many that has that uuuummmpppppphhh that’s needed when you really need the field position. Can’t wait to see him as a Vol!
I hope he can bring Bernard and Riggs with him. Come on in, welcome boys! GO VOLS
