Tobias-HarrisTennessee signee Tobias Harris, a 6-8 210-pound power forward from Dix Hills, NY, was named to the 2010 McDonald’s All-American team on Thursday afternoon.

The game, considered the nation’s most prestigious high school basketball all-star game, will be played Wednesday, March 31 at Value City Arena in Columbus. Tipoff will be at 8 p.m. ET and ESPN will televise the event.

ESPN Evaluation of Harris:

January, 2010: One of the elite players in the 2010 class, Harris brought his “A” game to Springfield (Hoophall Classic) with a work-man like 35 point, 16 rebound effort. His game is more high-level than high-light as he didn’t have a lot of “wow” plays, but displayed a very skilled, patient, smart and mature game that should translate immediately at the collegiate level. The smooth combo-forward let the game come to him and did a great job of not forcing the action while picking his spots to attack. He showed the full package of being able to score from the perimeter (3-6 from three) as well as score in the trenches (6 offensive rebounds). His body and athleticism continue to improve as he showed that he has the ability to defend the small forward or power forward position. He is a good rebounder that understands angles, but he also showed the toughness to just go and get it when it mattered. He is a great addition to Bruce Pearl’s Volunteers as he gives them a skilled forward that can play multiple positions.
