Peterman in as QB ???? what to expect (merged)

Quit making excuses for Peterman. He looks lost out there and has been practicing for 3 years now. Dobbs came in and played as a true freshman last year and did better. Comparing Peterman to Dobbs isn't even fair since Peterman has been on campus for 3 years now.

Yeah he looked great against Missouri, Auburn, and Vandy. That 53 yards passing was most impressive.

Yet all that game experience, he can't win the second string job.

Dobbs wasn't ready to play as a true freshman and CBJ hoping to redshirt him this year. Not going to happen though.

My hope is that they are tying to RS Dobbs.

I think Peterman might be a good QB in practice. He just isn't a gamer and I don't think that will ever change.

Maybe, but the 2 fumbled handoffs were the difference. I don't know who is to blame for either, and really don't care.

Both were stupid play calls. The zone read? Nobody respects that because they don't fear the qb running if they do keep it. The snap under center makes no sense after you run from the gun all the time & your Oline gets pushed around to boot.

What have you seen in peterman that gives you the remote hope he can be a good qb? Every single play looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Every play is a potential turnover...if it isn't one

i never said I thought he'd be a good QB.

But I've seen a WHOLE lot more of Dobbs to realize he sucks. Peterman has seen a fraction of the PT Dobbs has, and both times thrown into to more pressure situations than Dobbs was.

So basically if your final say on Peterman is he sucks, then Dobbs should scare you to death.

I don't think there's been a qb at Tennessee that I've ever seen as lost as peterman. Even the ones that sucked it up at least made some plays.

Yes, because the ones that sucked played way more plays.

If you want to pin that label on Peterman based on about 6 total series, knock yourself out.

The second point was my thought. Why in the world, while in the end zone and on the road, did we get into a formation that our players, particularly our true freshman, we're not accustomed to? We NEVER run out of the I formation....Hurd was not comfortable taking a handoff from the I formation and the handoff looked very awkward for both he and Worley imo. Very bad decision.

I haven't seen enough of Peterman to know if he can ever succeed or not. He has been thrown to the lions twice. If he could play 2 or 3 entire games against weaker opponents, and get acclimated to the speed of an actual game, and not practice, I could give an opinion.

It is like taking a guy off the Web.com tour, who has played one round on the big tour, and sticking him in the final pairing at The Masters. After he has been there a few times, it gets easier.
