Peterman in as QB ???? what to expect (merged)

I haven't seen enough of Peterman to know if he can ever succeed or not. He has been thrown to the lions twice. If he could play 2 or 3 entire games against weaker opponents, and get acclimated to the speed of an actual game, and not practice, I could give an opinion.

It is like taking a guy off the Web.com tour, who has played one round on the big tour, and sticking him in the final pairing at The Masters. After he has been there a few times, it gets easier.

No need for analogies. You either take advantage of opportunities or you don't. Gamers step up when given the chance. Practice players fold. I mean damn he just looks totally lost & costs s every play. Every play is almost 6 the other way or a turnover.

So again, Dobbs should scare you more. He sure as heck didn't take advantage of opportunities and was given WAY more chances.

Dobbs showed some flashes last year, made some plays. He didn't look completely lost like Peterman has on virtually ever single snap of his college "career".

Yes, because he got more than just 6 series and got to play a whole game against a team like Kentucky.

At least Dobbs is a smart kid, i hope that translates to being a good learner with reps. I just hope and pray CBJ can coch him up by next year. There is no doubt the kid is a great athlete i just pray he gets better with age!!! GO VOLS!!!!!!

Butch has him in the perfect spot...on the bench. The game is still too fast for him. If Worley goes down, our season is over.

Todays game certainly confirmed who our best QB is, by far. Anyone second guessing Worley after these last two weeks is probably related to or dating Peterman or the forgotten one.

This. Dobbs has the natural ability, and hopefully the light will come on. I don't think anyone could've predicted how well Worley has done based on his first two seasons in Orange. He was atrocious as a freshman (when he got extensive playing time like Dobbs did last year) and as a sophomore. Dobbs was extremely inconsistent from one series to the next, but did show some flashes of real ability. Peterman hasn't really had the chances to show anything other than what we have seen.

Im not sure what natural ability you're referencing. If you mean he can accept the ball from center, i agree. However, anything beyond that, i never saw it. Smart kid, but he would miss the water if he threw the ball out of a boat in the ocean. I think he ran the ball only bcuz he couldnt throw it at all.

I know that Peterman was under pressure and doing his best, BUT that's about the worst D1 QB effort I have ever seen. I guess Dobbs is Redshirting? Good that we have a 4* QB coming in as Peterman will not get the Vols back to where they need to be next year.
