Most humiliating loss of Butch era

Alabama Is way more athletic then us. Until we start consistently getting 4* and 5* players we won't beat bama

I blame Jancek for that game. Butch should have gone for two. We gave up five fourth downs. Butch fired the guy that played conservative.

I don't think Butch is a great coach but I'm really getting tired of people who think he sucks or is lucky or doesn't know what he's doing. Dude took over after the worst coach in program and by year four is gonna have us in Atlanta with 10 wins. It's sad. But hey his offense sucks and the East is worst than ever and we are lucky blah blah blah. Luck other than the top three teams is always a factor. Go talk to Clemson today.

Fair enough, but the way I see it is we get killed in Atlanta this year and are back to 8-4 in year 5.

No it wasn't but hey whatever. People that wanna blame Butch for everything are gonna blame Butch for everything.

I keep seeing blame used a lot. That happens when you get your ass kicked I suppose.

I guess some just expect Jones to do something he isnt capable of. I don't blame him for that. I guess just accept it as reality.

Love the Vols, but our offensive play calls are horribly predictable. How many time was Dobbs going to hand it off to hurd/kamara instead of pulling it and running. Gotta give bama credit for having enough faith in their freshman QB. The only highlight is that were going 10-2 and have a chance to see bama again in the SEC Championship with a full team.

Everyone keeps saying that but the only positive with all the injuries is the young guys are getting reps. We will return the entire secondary, McDowell/Kirkland, all our DT's. Losing Barnett sucks.

4/5 from the oline and our top 9/10 guys. Every wideout. Kelly/Chandler/CFA are talented. Guarantano was rated higher than Hurts by every scouting service. Shoop in year two. Far from a disaster

How many years do you think we have before it's back to business as usual for UGA, FL, and even SCAR? You can act like the fact that the East being a train wreck doesn't matter, but it does. Ask yourself this- where would we rank in the SEC West? 5th? And we are doing that with more returners than anyone, a senior qb and a schedule where most of our tough games are at home. That's why people are concerned about Butch. He hasn't shown an ability to get it done, and if he can't this year it's probably not going to happen.

About to have the first ten win regular season since, what, 1998?

We played our worst game of the year. We got it out of the way. Easy schedule the rest of the way. Gonna get healthy, retool, and be in Atlanta. Calm down, get a drink, and relax

No, Fulmer had four more 10 win seasons before he was canned.

Butch has to be the luckiest coach ive ever seen. Legacy recruiting classes. getting to follow a guy who makes maintaining the APR look like an accomplishment. And then the weakest SEC east since divisions and still might not win it.

Pixie dust, bullcrap. this team is injured because it is constantly out of position and the offense keeps throwing the defense under the bus.

suck an egg

He's about to get to Atlanta. Wasn't that the goal? If he can't do it this year he'll never do it. Well he's gonna do it and people are still *****ing.

Also I don't see any Urban Meyer type coaches in Gainesville and Athens so I'm not that concerned yet

Saban could win with all 2 and 3 star players. It's all about coaching and schemes.

Cough!?!?!....WHAT?!?! I hope you aren't being serious. Do yourself a favor and check out his coaching career in this thing called the NFL. Can't win the Kentucky derby on a mule....just saying. Coaching and schemes have a lot to do with it, but without the talent, it doesn't matter. Talent makes and breaks tackles. Talent catches and knocks down passes. Talent makes and gets off of blocks. I don't need to say more. Hopefully you get it. Bama is the best team in the nation....period. They are better than us at arguably every position on the field. So they beat us. Just keeping it real. Gbo!!!

I just had this conversation with someone. I went into this season thinking for sure we would take a big step back next year. However, watching many of our young guys play this year (many forced by injuries), I'm a little less pessimistic. We lose some key players, but I'm encouraged by the young talent we've seen on the field this year.

Of course, the most important thing right now is getting to Atlanta.

Well no honestly, I don't think it was. Wasn't the goal getting to the playoffs? Having a team make it to Atlanta isn't worth a damn, if you haven't built a team capable of winning it and moving on. And after the beating we just took, with two losses now, we could probably win the rematch and still not make it to the playoffs. THAT"S THE POINT. You are trying to act like winning the East means what it used to. It doesn't. We aren't in the top 4 of our own conference, how do you expect to make the top four of the playoffs?

Im forgetting someone i know

Let me take 7-9 starters from any team and lets see how they do

The real question is ARE WE DOING SOMETHING INTERNALLY thats causing these injuries (practice philospphy--weighttraining) or is it just bad luck.

What did u guys really expect. Also no point in risking getting Dobbs hurt in a game we werent winning anyways. We just lost to this years national champion.
5 wins
7 wins
9 wins
10 wins or more this year after bowl

And some want to fire butch. Look @ Georgia. The grass is NOT always greener on the other side.

The goal is to win the SEC. He's on pace to get to Atlanta. Which in order to win the SEC, you have to do. Worry about the playoffs later.

Ok. I get what you're saying and you're a good poster, I just think reasonable people can look at Butch and have real, valid concerns.

Yes there are.

But it's super silly to be criticize him after this week's game.

We woulda had -133 yards bro if we did. What the hell would you of done? Wake the hell up. We weren't going to move the ball on them regardless what we called. They were winning the line of scrimmage all game. Just the way it ****ing is. It sucks.

Getting the ball to Kamara in space on some swing passes and screens would have been a start.

Seems like he did OK receiving last week against another talented front 7.

Wait, weren't you the one that declared you were done with UT sports after all the sexual harassment stuff came out?
