Marcus Nash, Greg Kyler, Maurice Staley, Andy McCullough, and Anthony Hampton. Mid nineties. That doesn’t matter. Transfer portal let’s you supplement the receiver room every year. And I’d venture to bet we’re gonna have a lot of talented transfer guys wanting to come here each year.
We have too many holes to spend building outside in.
It’s not smart resource utilization. Akin to Detroit drafting wide receivers in the top 10 three years straight.
Look at our roster and we have holes at QB, RB, OL, DL, LB, and S.
There would probably be no easy way to check this but I bet no one would be able to find a team that took 5 receivers in a single signing class.
You don't turn away this talent. Don't be surprised by the Jimmy's leaving. You'll need 5 then.
We will likely sign 2 RB's in this class. We have a QB committed. If HH comes back, we'll have him and Milton. Several OL committed. In the top 2 for multiple DL. We can address LB through the portal, but with our lack of depth, we have to start building through high school and JUCO. The portal is great to fill holes, but it's also a crap shoot. Banking on it too much is a risky proposition. That doesn’t matter. Transfer portal let’s you supplement the receiver room every year. We're taking 32, we can sign 5 wr. That leaves 27 spots left. So Yes you can.No. You won’t. They wouldn’t play this year. Just like Andison Colby, Walker Merrill, or the Jimmy’s didn’t.
Maybe one or two would. But not 5.
Utilize the tight ends more. Engage the RBs more. We literally played the last ten games with 3 receivers gettinf 95% of the snaps and we were electric.
You guys are forgetting we have horrid depth at linebacker - guys who can’t tackle in space. Or that we basically have one pass rusher. Or that our safeties can’t cover ground. Or that it looks like Dayne Davis might have the best chance to start at tackle currently.
This ain’t Madden.

Also, people sign 4 WR''s in a class all the time. That doesn’t matter. Transfer portal let’s you supplement the receiver room every year. And I’d venture to bet we’re gonna have a lot of talented transfer guys wanting to come here each year.

We may not sign 5, but stranger things have happened. Like not signing any offensive linemen in a class at all.Just because you can - doesn’t mean you should.
And we’re not going to.
I’ve stated my case as intelligently as I can. We’ll see on signing day what happens. 5 true freshman receivers won’t be what we end up with. Bookmark if you want.
Agree to disagree. Goodnight
I stated mine intelligently, you don't utilize the tight end more if you have superior wr's. You damn sure don't turn this kid away. Is 5 too heavy? Sure, but if a gift falls in your lap you don't spurn it. Else we'll all just probably watch another rerun of jaycee horn balling out at SCAR or Trevor Lawrence at Clemson. That's my point. If it was a random run of the mill receiver I agree with you.Just because you can - doesn’t mean you should.
