Thompson Boling Arena at Food City Center

If it makes TBA look like an actual arena and not a warehouse built in 1983 then I’m all for it. It’s embarrassing how majestic Neyland looks on the outside and how bland TBA does on the outside.

Danny'll have 'em all out working the street corners before too long. He ain't running a charity. Gonna tell them to hike up those skirts and go to work.

Sounds stupid but in the end we will all still just call it TBA anyway and we’ll have more money.
Yeah, but they'll mention it on TV every time the building's name is mentioned and have the logo on the outside of the stadium, probably on the court, etc. $20m over 10 years isn't even that much money, and I was under the impression we were doing a ton of fundraising without having to do stuff like this. This is stupid.

If this is what it takes to get facility upgrades, I am all for it, plus it helps local businesses. The exterior and interior need serious work so this is welcome in my eyes. Win-win.

Is there anything they can do about the outside of the building itself? I mean, I imagine the outside looked bad the second it was completed, much less today.

1. Nobody will give a crap about the name. Itll still be Thompson Boling Arena in the same way that Heinz Field will still be Heinz Field.

2. If it means money for upgrades to make it a better experience, then that's great.

3. It's good to see us invest in the basketball program, which is pulling its weight right now too.

I see no downside to this. Im sure they'll come out with a "Pick 5" promotion for tickets lol

If they touch the court....... I don't know what I'll do other than gripe and moan, but I'll do a lot of that.

Maybe they can’t. I drove by both Neyland and TBA everyday for my job before I moved for 8 months and it literally made me shake my head every time I see TBA. It’s so ugly on the outside. Maybe @Thunder Good-Oil or one of the old timers can tell me what they were thinking.

Well that sucks and 20 million seems low but everyone is doing this so not surprising.
