Cora Hall is predicting a win for us tomorrow.
In addition to the strong play of Auburn forward DeYona Gaston and the absence of guard Taliah Scott (injured wrist) (both of whom have been discussed by posters here), Cora singles outTennessee 83, Auburn 68: The Lady Vols enter the lighter portion of their SEC schedule in February, and they have all the motivation to start it off on the right foot. Tennessee should beat Auburn decisively, especially at home, and get some confidence back before facing Ole Miss and Alabama.
Freshman Yuting Deng, who enrolled early in January, has been a key addition for the Tigers in SEC play. Deng, a 6-foot guard, has experience playing for China's U24 national team in FIBA 3x3 competition and has given the Tigers a shooter in Scott's absence.
Deng has earned a starting spot and has averaged 10 points and two rebounds in 21 minutes per game. Deng has shot 41.4% on 12 made 3-pointers.
