Decent end of the quarter, thanks to Ruby.

I don’t love calling out specific players, but Sara is getting cooked on D most every possession. Plus if she’s not productive on offense, literally air balled the wide open 3, not sure why someone like Ace would get some minutes to test it out….

Ruby is about the only player who consistently comes to play from the tip as well. She has kept us in the game early a ton this season. Cooper tends to struggle and come on in the second half. Need Spencer to be more aggressive getting in the paint and scoring or dishing.

Everyone is just going to barrel down the lane and dare us to try to stop them. It really is kinda hard not to foul when that's an opponent's strategy. But that block by Spearman may have at least one player a little hesitant to do that again.

Meanwhile, we suddenly learned to move, cut, and pass on offense. Rolled up several assisted baskets right there.

Bad news is we're fouling way too much.

Boyd is a such a hustler she’s going to be a really great player by the time she’s done at Tennessee. She plays more mature than several of the players older than her. Doesn’t make too many errors when she’s out there and is one heck of a defender without fouling.

We have mostly stopped doing that. We tried that a lot early in the season and I don’t thinks he handle a single one of those passes. The passer is anticipating and throws to where she should be but she isn’t quick enough and doesn’t leap well enough to play that game.

She’s great in the short corner and for the occasional wide open three. I’ve always been frustrated she doesn’t have more of a post up game. She has a great frame and usually has a smaller defender.

She lacks the tenacity to really have a lot of confidence in transition passing or one on one post up. If she’s deep in the paint on a smaller defender she tends to do well, like the last play.

I think it’s intriguing how just about all the other SEC games are playing out exactly how the LVs games are playing out but it’s always so much negativity in the 1st half or so in every game thread.
I’ve learned that to enjoy this season just have to block out the noise.
