2025 Seed Watch Party Thread

One game at a time. We are in the hardest league and although we've lost some heartbreakers, we've also beat some really good teams.

Tournament NCAA is a where the reset button is hit. We all know that.
SEC Tournament is just a continuation of a physical conference schedule
With the games played most committee members 80% have determined the top 16 of which 85% have determined their order of seeding.
Tennessee will be a 2 seed, Alabama will be a 2 seed, Florida and Auburn will be 1 seeds. Houston and Duke with be the other 1 seeds.
Sleeper but Not a real Sleeper is Michigan St. Running low on the radar until late. Another is St John's.

Wonder if there is some risk Michigan State jumps Florida for a 1 seed. I don’t agree with that call but after today they will likely be 26-5, 12-4 Q-1, 8-2 on the road. Plus they pass the “eye test” and I feel like the committee would be comfortable putting a Big Ten team on the 1 seed line over a second SEC team.

don't think that but there is some risk they pass us on the seed line

i've never thought it until today but is there some risk we drop to a 3 seed if we lose the first game in the SEC tourney?
Not at all. We were 5th overall in the early reveal and only lost once since then. We’re still 5th in the NET and KenPom. We aren’t going to drop 4 places on the committee’s list when everyone else except Duke and Houston also lost during that time.

Alabama, Michigan State & Tennessee are effectively all tied at the exact same number in today’s matrix update. So a 2 seed either in the Midwest with Houston or East with Duke seems like a near certainty at this point, with it really being 50/50 as of today.

Ironically when I felt best about our draw under Barnes was the Oregon State year
That Oregon State team coming out of nowhere and being 6 points from a Final Four was unexpected. Then again NC State basically did the same thing last year, except they actually got to the Final Four.

JBR Bracketology already has us as the 7th overall seed and St Johns right behind us. It's not far fetched we could play our way off the 2 seed line with a 1 and done appearance in the SEC tournament
