2025 Transfer Portal Thread

For good reason. He’ll probably transfer, but I’m not sure we want him. His foot speed and covered shooting were not impressive. Might not be a fit. I think that personal visit from Hubert Davis saved us some pain.

Correct. He would have been a solid pickup here knowing he had multiple seasons to develop.

I'd be a bit surprised if we pursued a big man unless there is a belief that Estrella (rSO), Phillips (JR), or Okpara (SR) is out after the season ends. You add Dewayne Brown to that mix, as well. Someone with HA-H's stat line is going to expect sizeable minutes, I'd assume. I guess it's possible you convince him that JPE and Okpara work exclusively at the 5 spot and Brown (probably a 5, as well) is a year away.
I have no idea if we’re interested in him but his highlights are nice and he’s more of a slasher/wing than a post guy.

We’re gonna try and keep this thread about guys that Tennessee has interest in, if you want to start a transfer portal thread in the NCAA forum, or if the mods will allow an all transfer portal thread in this forum, but if everyone posts every player to enter the portal this thread is going to become extremely cluttered and impossible for folks to come here and have any clue who Tennessee may be pursuing.

Some folks might recall he was likely a Vol before Dillione beat him to the punch and surprised everyone with an early commitment.
Yep, I think you and I discussed this not too long ago, actually. Demary has clearly had the upper hand thru two years.

I really like the way Demary plays. He never gets too sped up but he can get out in transition with the best of them. He’s got a good frame and can play a physical style and can shoot it well for a PG.

Thought we didn’t need a big man….definitely take though and we have the room.

Seems like a guy that would probably come in, sit for a season and learn, then play the following season once Okpara is gone.

Who knows, maybe he and Brown can turn into the next Grant/Admiral….just bigger

Bet he'd really benefit from Barnes bootcamp too. Looks strong but could lean out some.
His senior HS year to recent progress is really impressive, not sure what he weighed before but it’s a noticeable difference.

And as I’ve said before, just because I post someone doesn’t mean he’s coming here or is a guaranteed take, just means that there’s some level of mutual interest/contact.

Chaz wanted to be here and was an in-state guy
Again, I know where Chaz is from, but he still turned down more moneyto be here. Every now and then, even with players that aren't from your state, you can lose the bidding war and still get the player, which was my point. It's rare, but it happens. If it was as simple as "Chaz wanted to be here and was an in state kid" then there wouldn't have been visits with Kentucky and BYU and he would've immediately committed. Obviously, he did want to be here, but not every in state guy is going to turn down a lot more money to be playing in his home state. Jonas Aidoo could've played in NC for less than he's getting at Arkansas. Chaz is a rare breed, which is a good thing for us.
