I know we are likely locked into the 2-seed, but records be damned I’m not sure how you could look at Tennessee beating Florida in the rubber match, unequivocally proving that that the Vols are the better team, and still give Florida the 1-seed.
The resume are just so dang similar. Beating a team 2 out of 3 should mean something.
And they do it because they love serving on the committee and doing the work. Your idea that they’re sitting back eating bon-bons all weekend because they finished the bracket a week ago is, again, ignorant.I am well aware they aren’t paid for being in the committee. They are AD’s and high ranking university employees who are paid more than enough to make it through a stressful weekend of work on selection week.
Always a conspiracy theory. Your username says it all. #BVSWhat do you expect him to say? The reputation of the committee is truly garbage if he gets up there and admits what anyone paying attention already knows: the bracket was set last night. Committee members are going to go to their little conference room with the CBS cameras and paint the false picture that they’re dialed in on games today.

I think it’s weird you think it has to do with wanting to work over the weekend and not the complicated logistics of a 68 team basketball tournament
I’m not sure how complicated it would be to slot Tennessee/Florida as a the last 1-seed and Tennessee/Florida as the first 2-seed in their nearly complete bracket and just slot the two teams late after the game is over. It’s not like they are from different conferences and could throw everything else in the bracket off. Should be an easy fix if the Committee cared at all about getting it right.
The final has been on Sunday for nearly 40 years. It’s not changing. One certain thing about this whole mess is that Sankey needs to move the SEC tournament final to Saturday, TV be damned. Not only is it a joke if the tournament means nothing at the highest seeds because of the late finish, but why would you want two of your best NCAA teams to have one less day of rest and preparation for the main event?
When invited to join the committee, common sense would tell you if they wanted to sit back and eat bon-bons all weekend without doing any work they would decline the invitation.
If you flip UT/UF what issues arise?I think you answered your own question. IF it were so easy, it’d be done.
So it stands to reason that there are things at play the public just isn’t privy to. And I’m willing to bet some of those factors are things that would make you angry if you knew about them.
So we get this opaque process.
I am right there with you. But I also thought we would move up a seed when we want it a couple of years ago. It helped nothing.I hope you're right but my gut tells me we're gonna have a 2022 repeat if we win.
I want to win because it's another banner and it's Florida and we're here so might as well.
100% especially when it's for the conference c'ship in likely the toughest conf in the history of men's basketballI know we are likely locked into the 2-seed, but records be damned I’m not sure how you could look at Tennessee beating Florida in the rubber match, unequivocally proving that that the Vols are the better team, and still give Florida the 1-seed.
