The Official “Regular Posters of the Basketball Forum” Thread

Takes one to know one. Sherlock. Just because you have no idea what you’re talking about doesn’t make me the bad guy. Put me on ignore if you don’t want to hear the truth.
I won’t put you on ignore - it’s a message board and I enjoy hearing everyone’s opinion. If I didn’t, I’d leave. But, you have predicted about 30 things between here and the seed watch thread, and have been a pretentious fellow to almost everyone who went against what you said. Much like you just did in your response to me.

I hate it when you guys fight. I always feel like it’s my fault. I love you both and I don’t want to have to choose.

I use facts and personal first-hand knowledge to back what I post on here, as opposed to conjecture, which is why some of my responses may come across as matter-of-fact. Not meant to be pretentious. I’m very confident in what I post and have no problem admitting when I’m wrong.

Lol dude, you're not very good at this. This post of you trying to say you aren't pretentious is itself pretty pretentious sounding.

And you say you don't use conjecture yet you just made a "guarantee" which was in fact .....conjecture.

Aren’t you the guy who never paid the $100 football bet we made two-plus years ago?

Nobody probably cares but with 14 SEC teams making it and the other 2 (LSU, SC) having losing records, that means no SEC teams in the NIT. I'm curious when the last time the NIT didn't have at least 1 SEC team.

Edit: Well apparently the SEC has 2 automatic bids no matter what to the NIT every year and so does the ACC. So LSU and SC both receieved NIT bids but both declined them.

Man I don't remember what I did last week.
It was you. I reminded you at least a dozen times since then, and . . . crickets. Several other posters even called you out.

Here’s the thread: More heart than I have seen in 15 years

Don’t lecture me about talking down to people and being pretentious when you don’t have the integrity to honor a commitment you made publicly on the football board three years ago.

Give me a Venmo. I don't go into the Football board all that much and I don't get notifications. I have no problem paying.

I guarantee you that’s what they’ve done. Otherwise Bubba Cunningham wouldn’t have said in a live interview yesterday, “there are six teams alive for #1 seeds.” This was before Alabama lost, so now there are five: Auburn, Duke, Houston, and I would surmise the winner of our game today. It’s easy to flip-flop two SEC teams in the bracket when you know where they’re going to definitively land for the opening rounds (us to Lexington and Florida to Raleigh, regardless of outcome) as well as the regions (winner gets #1 West, loser gets #2 Midwest).

I think we saw enough today from Bubba and his committee to know that not to believe anything they actually say.

Of the tens of thousands of resumes in the past, only 1 got an at large at 1-12 in Quad 1 games..

A few things about the bracket:

* We couldn't have gotten a much better draw than we did, and if we play to form it looks like it could be a 'third time is the charm' matchup with Kentucky for the Elite 8. The only team I'd rather have than Houston for a Final 4 would be Auburn, but I would have signed for a matchup with Houston before this was revealed. They're really good, but beatable.

* I would have bet my life that North Carolina would get in. Easiest call of the day.

* I don't give a rat's ass about Michigan, but did they ever get hosed. Win the Big 10 tournament, and a better Quad 1 record than the four Big 10 teams seeded higher, a few of which they beat in the tournament. This puts to rest the idea that the "committee" pays any attention to conference tournaments outside of the auto-bid leagues, and it is a clear signal to Sankey that he should get the SEC final moved to Saturday.

Interesting, Houston has three straight 1 seeds but no F4 appearance with that 1 seed. Perhaps they shouldn't keep getting 1 seeds for winning their conference based on its historical strength...

tbc, I'm not saying we should have gotten a 1 over them. I'm saying seeding is a crock of mess for the most part.

UNC AD on the selection committee and gets $104,000 bonus if UNC gets in the tournament. Lol.

Just an update...

Zakai Zeigler now has 714 assists for his career, 2 and he'll surpass Johnny Darden (715). He now has 245 steals distancing himself from Vescovi (212) every game.

Seriously impressive to have a PG score 1500 career points, 700 assists, 350 rebounds and 200 steals....truly a special player we've been lucky to have.

A few single season records we've seen made this season or in reach still

ZZ - 242 assists (and counting) previous record was Rodney Woods at 227 50 years ago!
Chaz (110) is now 9 made 3s away from surpassing Lofton for most in a season at 118
ZZ - has 64 steals, single season record is 78 held by LaMarcus Golden... 15 more isn't out of the question with a deep run
Felix - has 59 blocks, single season record is 73 held by CJ Black & Yves Pons (14 blocks would require a pretty deep run...the most he's had in one game thus far was 4)

Even without whatever happens in this NCAA tourney he's already been part of possibly the best 4 year stretch ever in Tennessee history. SEC regular season champ, SEC tourney champ, sweet 16, and elite 8. Ranked top 25 his whole career

All 4 seasons team won at least 25 games, 3 of them 27 (with this one still going).

If you're doing a Mt Rushmore of career (at least 3 years as a Vol) no way ZZ isn't on there for what he's accomplished as an individual as well as team.
