Estrella/Phillips and Okpara will be a good group but Florida’s front line just seemed a little stronger, taller, faster and more skilled than our guys. Hope the addition of a healthy Estrella can close that gap.

Agree. Lots of people would choose the money. Chaz Lanier didn’t…in large part because he wanted to play for his home state school. That’s the point.

Lanier has stated multiple times how much it meant to play at his home state school. That was a huge factor in UT’s favor with him that will not be a factor in UT’s favor for a kid from the Dakotas.

Of the big 3, basketball is my least knowledgeable sport. But I hope we don't leave as many open scholarships next season.

BTO mentioned him. I think he said Barnes reached out personally about his grades or something. I could be wrong though.

Obviously all plans are that this is ZZ’s final year and the possibility of it also being Barnes final year would cement him being gone, but is there any route to him actually getting a fifth year? I know he had the injury in the last couple weeks of the regular season in 2023, so he played almost all of that season. That said, there’s been some insane decisions from the NCAA in giving guys extended eligibility. Is there any plans at all for them to petition for a fifth year or is ZZ/UT pretty much resigned to this being the final go for him?

He won't be, we almost never play less than 3 guards and usually play 4.

The Turner kid is a 5 all the way though. So he wouldn't really be taking minutes from Cade who I think they'll want to play more at the 4 this year. JP getting injured forced him into playing more 5 this season.

I feel like 5 or 6 healthy bigs is a must in SEC play and with 13 scholarships no reason not to have that many.

With JP having missed so much from injuries I'd be fine with adding 2 in portal and try to get 1 of them to be a bit of a stretch 4 option.

Can any of the returning post players turn their back to the basket and score somewhat consistently? I hope so but I’ve yet to see it just mostly lobs or tip ins.

I don't think we really need another big.

Okpara, Brown, Phillips and Estrella. That's 4 guys. I'd hate to use a scholarship on a big when we need to be looking for guards.

If we get a big, I'd expect it to be someone who is more of a role player, reserve type.

I hope we can find another ZZ, he has a great assist Game, especially his lobs, a skill set you never see in today's game.

It’s funny. I literally just heard from my friend. Michigan and St Louis have shown early interest. We need to slide. I have a good feeling about this one.
