Get excited about 5* Tristen Keys. We lead. Commits elsewhere. Get excited about 5* Rodney Dunham. Likely going elsewhere. Get excited about a 5* DB, likely going elsewhere. Hard to get excited about 5*.

I wouldn’t call our WR recruiting elite. LSU and OSU recruit WRs at an elite level. We are more midrange with an occasional elite WR Thorne in there from time to time.

The team Vols beat out for Mike had two freshman receivers go for over 650. The guy they didn't want to spend on will be WR1 at Texas. Mike had 8 touches in a room that was hurt all year. I'm a big fan of Mike, but nobody in this room makes me feel confident in the offense for this season

Wait so we arent wanting to spend money at WR? @Ericvol2096 WR at TX, one at OSU, and one at Bama are only ones we shouldbe spent on. Lets go!

And E, while we're at it. Brazzers hasnt gained a single lb. We finna need another body.

Didn't mean that. Think they would for Keys. There's just far too many instances of this staff being in the better part of the mix with top tier players and then fade out as recruitments begin to take actual shape IMO. Ryan Wingo recruitment was a bit all over the place and obviously expecting to outbid Texas for everyone is unreasonable, but would like to see this staff be willing to spend big past QB, one top-of-the-board target, and an EDGE rusher.

I don't think Lane takes enough top end depth from high school which makes Ole Miss too reliant on the portal but I like that idea of spending on premium playmakers and trenches from high school and then supplement depth with portal and local guys (TN, GA, NC/SC, AL) they want to take chance on.

The lack of more than one premium player on either side of the ball against Ohio State got exposed so bad

So prospect pedigree is to be thrown out the door because of production or lack thereof in one’s freshman year? Just because someone isn’t Ryan Williams or Jeremiah Smitb doesn’t mean they aren’t/weren’t an elite prospect, that’s silly dude…
