Hope they're "complimentary". Might take some time before so many new pieces really mesh and come together tho.As I said last week regarding Juke, it’s days not weeks. I thought it would be by Thursday of last week, but there are some details around NIL that mirror the complexity of the deal they did with Haralson—but obviously bigger. I assume it’ll all be done and announced today/tomorrow. This one has smoldered long enough that some enthusiasm may have faded. That isn’t the case for me. Juke has so many modern game talents— elite agility and body control, ability to score at three levels and force defenders to overcommit, a real guard handle, and the footwork to make him a great defender. All of that comes on a 6 7” frame. This one took time, but it is a classic Barnes win— almost five years of relationship building. This is a great class, and the complimentary pieces are the best I’ve seen here. I think we’ll get another big. This will be a fun year.
Do you expect Juke to announce a commitment and that he's pulling out of the draft? Or do you expect him to maintain draft status up to the deadline? As I said last week regarding Juke, it’s days not weeks. I think he’ll announce in the coming days. I don’t think he’s going to stay in draft as the feedback last week made his team feel that he’ll be better off financially by staying in college and could be in a better position in next year’s draft.Do you expect Juke to announce a commitment and that he's pulling out of the draft? To be perfectly honest, I didn't even notice that. Was actually focused on how well the team gels while thinking about the mess UK was. Lots of talent but they just never really came together. Maybe we have enough veterans that the task will be easier and quicker? Hope so because at the moment, basketball is about the only sport I'm remotely excited about at UT.Thanks to autocrrect for making a team that comes gratis with the purchase rather than one that works well together-- perhaps apt too. Complementary, my dear Watson-- per Malaprop.
It was never rocky. Maybe rocky for the people that have zero patience, but hell Barnes locked up one of the best shooters before the portal even opened. He had to cut the entire roster loose at the beginning, but it was clear he had a plan and executed it to near perfection! We went from a rocky start at the beginning of the portal season, to having one of the best teams in the nation. I love it
