Happy Friday - and for many of you a long weekend

Scripture — Isaiah 55:6–7 (NIV)
“Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”

Reflection:
Isaiah’s invitation is urgent, but it is also deeply hopeful.
“Seek the Lord while He may be found.”
This is not God hiding from people. It is God inviting people to stop delaying their return to Him.

We often think repentance is mainly about behavior management, but Isaiah points deeper — “forsake their ways and their thoughts.” God is not only calling us away from destructive actions, but also away from the inner patterns that keep us distant: pride, bitterness, self-reliance, hopelessness, or the belief that we must fix ourselves before approaching Him.

And then comes the promise:
“He will have mercy… He will freely pardon.”
Not reluctantly. Freely.

God’s mercy is not scarce. The doorway back to Him is not guarded by perfection. It is opened by surrender. The person who turns toward God honestly will never discover a closed door.

Prayer:
Lord, help me seek You while You are near. Quiet the distractions and stubborn thoughts that pull my heart away from You. Where my ways have drifted, redirect me. Where my thinking has become hardened, renew me. Thank You that Your mercy is not earned and Your pardon is freely given through grace. Teach me to return to You quickly, honestly, and fully. Amen.

I consider myself to sometimes particular or ocd in my own way, but I wouldn’t categorize it as anxious… Curious how yall deal with anxious people.

Like when someone is always anxious, negative, high maintenance, complaining, it literally gives me anxiety. I think it’s the ick, as in please keep that vibe as far away from me as possible. So tell me, how do yall deal with overly anxious people?

Obviously this doesn’t apply to this forum, where being overly anxious is not only appropriate but an expectation. What’s a volnation without its worry circle amiright…
If it’s immediate family, I try to get them help. If it’s not, I remove myself from the situation.

Some speculation it was the infection and something to do with g-forces while racing. Not much would surprise me though.
A friend of mine died suddenly after a prolonged respiratory 'thing'. In his case it was fulminent myocarditis. Viral infection of the heart. From perfectly healthy to dead in 6 days.

Similar situation. Friend is a Peds, said middle schooler had flu. Docs thought it had run its course, kid passed likely as it attacked heart.

Dissimilarly, said there was a situation with kid who was obsessed with drinking water and ended up drowning, bc of it.

Busch was "testing in the Chevrolet Racing Simulator when he became unresponsive and was taken to a hospital in Charlotte."

Sounds almost like a heart attack or maybe a blood clot. Terrible.
The myocarditis I mentioned destroys your heart and clots fiercely. Sounds very similar to what happened to my friend.

A big reminder of how fleeting life can be. Terrible for his family. I count myself lucky, knock on wood, that I've made it this far in the journey.

There has been no actual mention of clots. Also, there are many medical conditions that could lead to clots. What i have heard mentioned is a bad sinus infection, which obviously is dangerously close to the brain.
